What are your favorite moments of 2022?

Hello to everyone in our growing travel community!

We are nearly 3k followers strong here at Globetrotters. Wowie! A big thank you to all our readers and fab travel writers.

Our little pub has gone through many transitions this year and the New Year holds the promise of looking to the future with renewed optimism and hope. As we move forward, Adrienne, Anne, Jillian and I continue to strive to make this pub one that both readers and writers enjoy.

What were your favorite travel memories of 2022? What were your favorite stories here at Globetrotters?

Personally, I loved our water challenge stories from the month of June and our month of gratitude in November. Food in September was a lot of fun — not to mention all the great spooky tales in October.

Throughout the year we also covered road trips, hometowns, celebrations around the world, where I’d take my partner to and the best place we’ve ever been. So many fun prompts and so many equally fun stories!

These were my favorite picks from some of those challenges:

May: Michelle Y. KwakThe Moments I Carry With Me Will Always Be Home

June: Jillian AmattI Sailed Around The World!. An experience that carved out who I really am

July: Kade MaijalaI Was the Best Man in a Chinese Wedding

August: Jerry DwyerOur Epic Southwest 1975 Road Trip in a Little Pinto

September: Nella DiCarloGrapevines & Olive Groves of an Italian Village

October: Brett Jenae TomlinThe Dead Man’s…Cooler? Adventures in New Orleans

November: Keith KelleyMy Wife’s Life Was Saved by Miracles in Italy

Of course, there were so many other wonderful stories that stand out in my mind. Too many to list, for sure!

Closing for the Holidays and Our Christmas Challenge

Photo by Jessica Lewis on Unsplash

We’ve decided to close the pub for submissions… no worries, as it will only be temporary during the holiday break, which will be from Dec 24th (12am EST) to Jan 2nd (12am EST). This way we can all enjoy the holidays with our families and friends and have a little break from things.

We ask that writers do not submit stories during this time. Please hold them until Jan 2nd.

Trust me, we will be more than happy to read them at that time after a nice vacation.

This means the end date for Christmas challenge stories will end on Dec 23rd at noon EST (Eastern Standard Time). We will publish our finale soon after.

We hope everyone has a festive and happy holiday season!
