An Unusual Effect of Dairy Cream on a Mature Man
I interpret the natural effects of favored foods on vitality and sexuality using science and intuition.

Thomas called me and said, “I have a problem, but I don’t know how to explain it to you. I hope you don’t mind listening to my recent issue after your gift.”
I told him I was sorry about his problem and would be happy to listen and provide help if I could. But I had no clue what gift he was talking about.
He then said, actually, it was not a problem, as I might perceive. It was kind of an excellent problem. I asked how a problem could be excellent. I got confused and intrigued.
Usually, people express problems using adjectives like bad, terrible, awful, or unbearable. But, frankly, I haven’t experienced many people describing a problem as excellent except for uplifting entrepreneurial seminars.
Considering my interest in the human brain, Thomas thought I might provide him with some explanations and perhaps guidance on his excellent problem. After a few minutes, he gave a little background about our last visit to their home.
His words sounded very enigmatic. I kept listening without interrupting him. He kept talking about how much he loved the dairy cream I got from my friend’s organic farm and gifted him a few kilos.
Thomas loved dairy cream and consumed it a lot, but I had no clue what his problem was. I couldn’t create an association with cream and a potential problem. I thought perhaps it was related to cholesterol, my favorite subject.
He finally revealed his good problem saying that he got an instant erection after each time he got a few spoons of cream in his mouth. I couldn’t hold myself with a burst of laughter without offending him. As we are good friends, he knew I would not laugh at him. He started laughing too.
Then he seriously wanted to know why this situation happened to him. He said first few times, he couldn’t link the erection to food, but after happening multiple times, he was convinced that the taste of cream caused the results.
As he didn’t want to be embarrassed in front of his grandkids and other family members, he decided to eat cream in his reading and meditation room privately. Even though he was happy with the physical result, he was also a bit concerned as something might be wrong with his mental state.
He knows that food takes several hours to digest and goes to the bloodstream to affect the body. But he had an instant change in his body as soon as he tasted the cream in his mouth, which confused and concerned him.
He said, “I hope I don’t offend you with my unusual problem. But I’d love to obtain your thoughts.” I said not at all. Erection is a natural human trait. There is no shame in talking about it with trusted friends, loved ones, and professionals.
It was a pleasure for me to add some clarity and lower his concerns. However, I did not have much scientific evidence to start the conversation. Even though he has no formal education, Thomas loves to talk about science. He always picks my brains with interesting questions.
Then, something interesting came to my mind. I remembered some people who had orgasms while eating certain types of food. I heard and read about it in my postgraduate school years in a subject covering the psychological impact of food on the human brain.
I also read several scholarly and anecdotal texts about the impact of food on sexual arousal. For example, in some cultures, people use specific foods and herbs to increase their libido.
However, rather than confusing him with scientific details, I began to break the ice with the term “food orgasm,” which entered the urban dictionary in 2009. It is metaphorical, but it relates to the situation of Thomas.
I asked him whether he had other physical symptoms or changes, such as the urge to moan, gasp, or roll his eyes. He said yes. He couldn’t hold himself from moaning while moving the cream in his mouth and keeping it as long as possible before swallowing.
We had another chuckle when he said he had no orgasm but pleasant feelings encouraging him to take some action. He used his home gym, did pushups, and hopped on a trampoline to reduce the effects. He felt awkward so he ate cream only in his study room.
He said this incident brought up many childhood memories that he had never experienced before. He was delighted yet concerned.
When he mentioned memories, he started talking in my language. So, he seemed to be ready to understand the hormonal and neurological aspects of food on the brain.
Thomas got hooked on the conversation when I told him studies indicate that food might attenuate dopaminergic firing. He wanted to know more.
He got convinced when I explained the point to him with some findings from literature reviews that food could change hormones having biological and psychological effects on the body and mind. He related the scientific findings to his situation, and his voice depicted relief.
Then I explained to him, giving examples from my life. For instance, some foods, such as softly boiled eggs, have made me euphoric since my childhood.
I shared my old eggs story with him and mentioned the new one, which also touches on cream. He knows how much I love eggs, cream, and kefir. Therefore, I shared some with him when I purchased from my friend’s organic dairy farm.
Then I gave another funny and nostalgic example. Thomas couldn’t stop laughing when I mentioned that my German Sheppard-Dingo dog used to have erections and excessive saliva in his mouth when I occasionally fed him with chicken liver.
He wanted to know more and more about this fascinating topic. But he had to stop the call as his family members got close to him.
After this phone call, he wanted to meet at a coffee place to talk face to face in detail one day as he did not feel comfortable at our homes with other family members as he saw it as inappropriate. I accepted his invitation.
During the meeting, he mentioned that since his childhood, he had significant love for dairy food and cream was his favorite. His grandparents used to have a dairy farm. Thomas is 76 years old.
In his 40s, the popular low-fat craze and fat phobia also affected him. I was part of that craze that gave me nightmares.
Thomas gave up his favorite butter, cream, eggs, cheese, and fatty meat. He was too scared to get high cholesterol. But ironically, his cholesterol was more problematic when he cut those foods.
He missed those foods so much that only recently, after starting a ketogenic diet, he ate them in moderation. Interestingly, Thomas’s testosterone naturally and significantly increased after a keto diet.
However, his body craved those foods for many years before this type of diet. Unfortunately, he suppressed his cravings. I told him those subconscious memories were coming to the surface.
I said there was not much scientific evidence yet, but we intuitively knew that when we tasted particular food that we craved, our hormones and neurotransmitters would change favorably.
So I interpreted his situation that when he tasted organic cream which he did not eat for many years, his body and brain responded sympathetically, awarding him with pleasant hormones and neurotransmitters, causing physical and psychological changes in his body.
It was a great relief to Thomas that nothing was wrong with his brain and mind due to this unusual change in his body. He was grateful and characterized it as serendipitous.
After a while, he took the courage to reveal the condition to his wife, who was delighted with such a natural gift to her husband.
They asked me for the farm address to purchase the cream and enjoy it together. They subscribed to the delivery service of the farm and got organic and fresh cream delivered to their home weekly.
Thomas was a thrilled man after this pleasant incident. He thanked me for saving him lots of money as he stopped buying viagra after eating a few spoons of fresh cream daily.
I thought this amusing event might put some smiles on my readers’ faces and encourage them to eat their favorite food in moderation unless they have any underlying conditions preventing them from consuming it.
