“I wait for what comes and experience the joy and delight of the unexpected.” ― Diane L. Dunton

Nature and life can always surprise and delight us if we allow them. Upon going for a little stroll in our garden, I came upon bright spots of color. Each one brightened my outlook and helped me realize the beauty of life.

Around every corner I found something emerging from its winter slumber, awaiting my gaze.

When I found mint sprigs sprouting up to greet me, I delighted in their fresh scent wafting through the wisps of cold, clear air. Kneeling down to experience life was like a prayer to the universe.

Slow down and notice everything around you. Volunteer plants as I like to call them are like loving guests in our Earth’s home. Wherever they choose to root themselves, it brings me joy.

Every year more little surprises come up, and it fills my heart with glee. The abundance all around us has provided once again.

From the purple violets and green mint to the bright pink stalks of rhubarb, our garden is alive and ready to bring forth new growth.

We greet the spring with grace and love. Many surprises await us this time of year. I invite you to ponder these.

Thank you ever so much to my fellow editors Lorena of Sharing Randomly and Ellie Jacobson. I appreciate both of you for your work and dedication here every day! You both are the BEST!

A note from Trista:

I am writing this ahead of time, but Monday, February 21st will be my first day at my new job working at a local hotel helping with their breakfast service.

Thank you all for your support, kindness, and friendship as I make this transition in life. I have a new schedule and it includes time for writing and reading your stories each day.

I appreciate your amazing patience in this process. This week I was many days behind on responding to comments and reading. Yet, I know there is grace for all of this.

Each of you is a part of my family here on Medium and time spent here each day is like coming home. Thank you for all you do.

In my family here it has surprised and delighted me how much my husband and son have embraced helping more with chores. My son was actually excited to vacuum and mop. Who knew?

Life is always here to support us with love and I send you all light today and always,

Trista
