Thank You, Mama
Dedicated to all the moms out there.

Dear Mamas, thank you for being you. It’s plain and simple but let me go further than this.
Thank you for waking up today. Sometimes, this can be a tough one for many of us, including myself. Some days, it’s a job to drag yourself out of the warm comfy bed you have laid in for eight hours, or maybe even just two hours. If you woke up today and got out of bed, you have succeeded today.
Thank you, mama, for putting your little ones (or even your big ones) above and beyond. It is in our nature to make sure we raise good human beings, it can be tricky and challenging, but it’s always a reward, in the end, I know the house is a mess, I know you tried to get dressed today, I know you tried putting just a little makeup on to actually feel like a human being. Still, your daughter needed help with her homework. Your son wanted to play a game, so you set everything else aside to help them, play with them, or simply feel wanted.
Thank you, mama, for staying up past bedtime to do the laundry, so everyone has clean clothes for the next day, washing the dishes, or just standing in the doorway of your children’s room to keep the monsters away; at this point, I know your exhausted and probably running on fumes or even caffeine, but as everyone says, we will miss this someday.
Everyone is sound asleep, you sit on the bathroom floor with the bathwater running, but you are too tired to even get in the bath, wishing you had a break, maybe you have a husband who works late on the weekdays and just wants to relax after work, so really, he isn’t a big help when it comes to catching a break for your own sanity.
Maybe you’re a single mom who wants to reach out to a family member or a friend asking to help even for an hour, but then the mom guilt floods you, so you delete the text. I see you; many of us see you. Just remember you are doing the best you can; who cares if you wore PJs all day, who cares if you didn’t get to wear makeup today, who cares if the house didn’t get cleaned because there is always tomorrow.
Thank you, mama.
