To-Do Things With Pure Joy and Happiness or Huffiness

That’s a moment by moment option

“Decide today that every little and big task you will do in your life everyday, will be with utter joy and happiness. See how your life transforms magically.”

– Purvi Raniga

How our energy projects outwardly while doing acts of kindness is extremely powerful.

My mom and I recently had a heated conversation. I’m not proud of the fact that I lost my patience, but it takes two to tango. Perhaps it was the snow moon?

I stopped by my mom’s side of our duplex the other morning before even having my first cup of coffee. Most likely, that’s where I went wrong, but I wanted to add her to my to-do list. Ugh, or maybe that’s where I went wrong. My to-do list was already longer than The Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Queensland, Australia.

I was being intentional too. It’s not the first time I have felt overwhelmed. Do we ever have enough time in a day? Yet loving those around me is a top priority.

Do you sometimes do things with a heart of huffiness? Although not often, I usually find myself huffing when somebody rubs me wrong, or I’m plain old tired!

Doing things that we love comes easy and with utter joy and happiness; however, doing things for others can be challenging. Especially when they are pushing you to your limit, but they don’t even know your limit!

Take time to plan after coffee

It’s not blowing time — it’s embracing your time more efficiently. I like to know what I’m up against in a day.

I decided to go to my mom’s before going back home to enjoy my coffee and plan out my day. Next time, I will have my coffee first.

Anyhow, planning goes a long way, and doing so isn’t a waste of time. If anything, it helps create pockets with moments saved.

“With your smile you make every day a weekend of happiness.”

– Anthony T. Hincks

Consider helping on weekends

I love to get my chores and work done during the week, but maybe my mom might need to be moved to the weekend. Is there something tipping your balance scale that could get transferred to your weekend to-do list?

It’s okay to go back and tweak your schedule again and again until you get your stress, anger, or huffiness under control.

Get a great nights sleep

Sometimes this is easier said than done. Being intentional about not staying up too late is a personal choice, but it can certainly help if you feel out of sorts.

Being a writer has helped with my sleep in ways. If something wakes me up, writing it down can help. However, I can write for hours once I get started.

Nocturnal by nature, I’m not, but there is something about the quiet hours when everyone else is still sleeping that inspires me.

Talk things out

If you feel comfortable talking to loved ones, it can be a great strategy to reduce your stress. They might help you prioritize tasks or see places where work could be divided differently.

Merely approaching your family or coworker by letting them know you have a lot on your plate right now and would love help figuring out the best way to tackle it all isn’t a negative thing.

Honestly, it’s being proactive. Not like you’re arguing or attempting to get out of work. However, every once in a while, getting out of work is what indeed needs to happen.

“Be moderate in order to taste the joys of life in abundance.”

– Epicurus, Philosopher

Get out of work-mode

Getting away from the hustle and bustle usually helps bring balance to the forefront.

It can help you hone back into your priorities. Breaks are a lovely reminder there’s a world outside of your to-do list.

My home is my workspace like many others these days. It’s essential to set boundaries with family members in the home during your work times.

Getting out of the house for a quick walk can work wonders, or setting up shop at a local coffee house or the library for a couple of hours can bring a sense of freshness.

Replace a huff with a hug

Ultimately, it’s important to remind ourselves that things will all get done eventually. Being kinder to ourselves and others is a moment-to-moment choice. The only person in charge of your to-do list is you.

There is a rainbow at the end of the storms! With a new mindset, you’ll be sure to get there.

The way others receive our positive energy is one of my top priorities. Hopefully, by reassessing your to-do list, you will be refreshed to finish your work and do it well without huffing or at least less! Who or what might you try moving to the weekend?

I’m thankful for my mom even when we don’t see eye to eye. Everyone’s perspective is different in life. My mom is not the touchy-feely type, so helping her out positively in other ways is my way to say I love her.
