If you can work from home, you can work from anywhere.

Ever thought to yourself…

“If I can work from home… I could work from anywhere?”

The answer is yes. Yes, you definitely can — It’s totally possible!

Working from home, a local coffee shop or somewhere more exotic with the sunshine still means you get the same work done — being somewhere new shouldn’t hinder your work output.

It doesn’t matter where you are working, your output shouldn’t be hindered, but your work-life balance instantly improves when working from where you want to be working from — rather than an office.

You’ve got the freedom to be where you want and soon gain back those long hours you used to spend on commuting — what are you waiting for?

Choosing to become a digital nomad is growing to be a popular lifestyle. Travelling whilst working remotely allows people to explore the world with the freedom to earn an income whilst living anywhere. I’ve been living this way since 2018 and never looked back. For me, slow travel has become a way of life, spending months at a time across Europe, Asia & Australia.

In each place I’ve visited, I’ve noticed that there are many nomad communities thriving, cities are affordable, coffee culture is impressive and there is wifi pretty much everywhere you go (this is of course dependant on the location).

So, where to start…

If you were to ask any digital nomad about where to travel to, a lot of places would be suggested, but you’ll notice that often the same places will be mentioned by an array of nomads. There are places you could visit because you’ve “always wanted to go there” or countries to visit because they have the best remote work set-up and temporary home options — this is up to you.

Here is a list of locations that are high on many nomads’ travel lists because they fit a remote workers criteria of:

  • Connectivity: you will always need to have access to a stable internet connection
  • Affordable: Often nomads will choose to visit certain locations because it’s cheaper than where they grew up, or where they were living long-term prior to packing up and living the location-independent lifestyle.
  • Community: Whether you’re a solo traveller, travel with your family or partner — this is a priority for most nomads. Nothing better than exploring new places and making new friends along the way.
  • Co-work or remote-friendly cafes: Having a choice of co-works to choose from within a city can be quite refreshing; we’re humans, social animals (most of us!) and so we love human interaction. Working from remote-friendly cafes can also help us nomads control any sense of loneliness and without a doubt, boost our creativity.

With the above in mind, here are some of the worlds best digital nomad hubs which easily tick of the above list:

There is an ever-growing list of places throughout the world that will fit the above criteria but the cities shared above are some of mine, or many digital nomads favourite places to work remotely.
