5 Best Porto Coffee Shops For Getting Work Done

Not only is the nomad community growing in Porto but the coffee culture is too

Choosing to become a digital nomad is growing to be a popular lifestyle. Travelling whilst working remotely allows people to explore the world with the freedom to earn an income whilst living anywhere. I’ve been living this way since 2018 and never looked back. For me, slow travel has become a way of life, spending months at a time in Europe & Asia.

I’ve had multiple long stays in Porto, northern Portugal. The nomad community is so welcoming, the city is affordable and there is wifi pretty much everywhere you go. During my time there, I noticed more and more cafes emerging throughout the city; so not only is the nomad community growing but the coffee culture is too!

With that in mind, I decided to put together a list of the best places to work from whilst nomading in Porto.

For me, the important factors to consider when being able to call a cafe “a great cafe to work from” is of course having great wifi connectivity, access to plugs, and tasty coffee flowing… all day long. When working on the move, I try to avoid having disruptions during the day due to poor wifi and low battery — planning ahead is key here.

After plenty of time discovering many cafes throughout Porto, here are 5 of the BEST work-friendly cafes when in Porto.

1. Mesa 325: Ran by a super-friendly local couple serving speciality coffee. Great wifi, cute dog, and a very calm and cosy vibe. Really great place to get your head down on focus work for the day.

2. C’alma Specialty Coffee Room: Beautiful coffee tasting room with a unique interior. You’ll find alternative brewing methods and friendly baristas.

3. Esquires Coffee Porto: Super chill spot to work from, great wifi, and excellent service. Great place for those days you need to work over lunch — they have an extensive menu of quick and tasty plates.

4. Fabrica Coffee Roasters: They love sharing their passion for speciality coffee with everyone who enters. Good tunes and quiet corners to work from.

5. Delta — The Coffee House Experience: Super bright space to work from, accessible plugs and great wifi. They have various coffee options, plus inside the coffee house an area where they make fresh pasteis de Nata — you won’t be able to resist the smell!

You should check out some of these places as it’s a great way to network with like-minded people in the remote work world.

There’s so much to discover in Porto, making it an exciting city for your next adventure. So if Porto is the next stop on your nomadic journey then enjoy these tips from someone who’s experienced it first-hand.
