Here’s Why Chiang Mai’s Digital Nomad Community Thrives!

Digital nomads have total freedom to live and work anywhere they want.

Digital nomads have total freedom to live and work anywhere they want. There are so many options when deciding where to go next but why is Chiang Mai a growing mecca for nomads?

Whilst working remotely, I’ve worked from a few cities in Thailand and spent a good couple of months in Chiang Mai itself. The city has such a laid-back vibe, full of the best kind of people — it was truly awesome.

There are too many good reasons why Chiang Mai thrives with Digital Nomads!

  • The weather is brilliant. November through till February tends to be the most pleasant and although the rest of the year may feel a bit hot and sticky it’s still bearable all year round.
  • The locals are so welcoming, Thailand is the land of smiles after all.
  • There is wifi everywhere you go, plus copious amounts of coworking spaces.
  • The coffee culture is strong, you could easily work from a new coffee shop each day of the month.
  • The food and nightlife are immense. No matter the day, the city is full of places hosting live music events, cheap drinks, and just a great atmosphere. Visits to the local Jazz bar did become a weekly event!
  • Finally, Chiang Mai is known for its affordability. Living costs are superb and roughly 20% cheaper than Bangkok, Thailands capital!

Chiang Mai is a Digital Nomads' dream.
