REMOTE WORKING | DIGITAL NOMAD | TRAVEL GEAR
Laptop Stands Best Suited To Your Remote Lifestyle.
If remote working is your long-term lifestyle choice, invest in your setup.
Living in a time where technology enables us to work from anywhere, it’s important to ensure that you’ve got a setup that is best for you.
A working set-up that supports your posture is key!
It’s common for Digital Nomads to travel light, often trying to justify a laptop is enough but if this is your long-term lifestyle choice you should invest in your everyday setup.
We need to make sure we’re giving our body proper back support, as over time a lack of support can cause an unhealthy amount of stress on your spine, as well as pain in your wrists and elbows.
Having worked remotely since 2018, I’ve had my office in all sorts of places. From cafes and co-works to the occasional poolside…all over the world.
I’ve witnessed many different setups that digital nomads have and I myself have gone through a variety of tech to support my ergonomic setup.
In no order, here are my top picks:
The Roost Laptop Stand
A very good option to make your workstation ergonomic on the go, it’s portable, very light and adjustable. It’s designed to fit almost all Windows and Macbook models with a foldable yet sturdy construction. This one will easily fit into your backpack too.
The Nexstand Laptop Stand
They offer a universal model that can fit almost any laptop. A great option for those with heavier laptops as it’s been tested and proven to work on laptops that weigh up to 20 pounds (that is a lot heavier than the average laptop). Similarly to the above, Nextstand is also portable, foldable and compact. The stand prides itself on the many height adjustments available, to support maximum comfort for all eye levels.
The Nulaxy Laptop Stand
This stand can tilt your laptop slightly forward bringing the screen closer when necessary, making a more comfortable viewing. The stand also offers airflow to protect your laptop from overheating. Although slightly trickier to pack as it’s not foldable, it becomes one of the sturdier options thanks to its aluminium casing.
Klearlook Laptop Stand
If you’re looking for a cheap and easy option then this should be your go-to. This stand offers seven different positions, with adjustability and a variety of screen angles to support your setup and eye height. Similar to Roost and Nexstand, it’s compact and foldable. Although it’s light, it’s not the most sturdy and so, it may not last forever but as the cheaper option, it’ll certainly do the job for an immediate ergonomic fix.
The MOFT Laptop Stand
This stand acts as a natural, seamless attachment to your laptop, it’s likely you’ll forget it’s even there. It’s super convenient for those who spend a lot of time packing and unpacking. You have to stick the MOFT stand to the base of your laptop meaning it’s very lightweight and easier to use on the move. It comes with dual-angle elevation adjustments allowing you to find the ideal height and comfort.
Although there are plenty of laptop stands to choose from, it’s important to find one that works best for your working environment and setup.
Just be sure to get a laptop stand that will support your posture and productivity.
