You cannot even imagine how sweet and fresh the air feels all around. This and all other photographs by author Luciano Abriata.

Scentful pseudoacacias

A walk around the neighborhood and nearby forest enjoying pseudoacacias through sight and smell.

Together with sambucus (a.k.a. elderberry, sauco in Spanish, sureau in French -with which I make a refreshing beverage, you’ll see soon!)…

pseudoacacias (a.k.a. “black locust” or Robinia pseudoacacia by scientific name) fill the air of the late spring with such a sweet, fresh fragrance…

I walked today around and shot the nicest pseudoacacias around. Some photos came out quite nice, I’d say. Too bad I can’t share with you the scentful, fresh air all around…

Pseudoacacias aren’t just white, as you may think because that’s by far the color that dominates. Pink and purple acacias exist too, and I’m lucky to have a few pink-flowered acacia trees around the corner:

Playing with the sunbeams in a pseudoacacia forest

The next two photographs were shot in almost the same spot of a small “forest” of these trees. But I took the two photographs at different times of the day; the one on the right being quite late when the sun is barely above the horizon allowing me to play with its beams:

Zoom on flowers of both colors

I love zooming on flowers to unveil their tiniest details:

I hope you’ve enjoyed these shots, and that you are also experiencing now these or other flowers with your sense of sight and smell. Because flowers can sometimes saturate senses in a delightful way…

Do you like flowers in trees?

Then don’t miss these stories, at least…
