SPRING REPORT WEEK 7.1

Trees and bushes got flowers

After the anachronic snowfall of the last weekend, I can present to you the spring photostory I was writing at the time… flowering trees!

After the heavy, unexpected snowfall of the last weekend…

… I can finally post the spring story that I was preparing. A story featuring flowering trees all around, of colours white, yellow, pink, and purple.

Walking down from Romainmotier to La Sarraz

One of my favorite places to wander around, not far from my place in Canton Vaud, Switzerland. Here’s a report of a summer hike there in 3 acts:

In the early spring, you find flowers everywhere, in the ground and in trees as featured here.

This is in the gardens of the castle at La Sarraz:

These yellow-flowering trees are very common all around. Here’s this one for example, in Croy, along a man-made water stream that diverts part of the water of a nearby river to a local mill:

Also in Croy, I found this small tree/bush with very nice white flowers:

And in Romainmotier, right next to the monastery, this tree bloomed some hairy flowers:

Down in the towns near the shores of Lac Leman

With hues spaning white to pink, magnolias, cherries, and other flowering trees already vest colors before the fresh green foliage arrives:

This one is in a messy edge of a forest near home:

Let’s take a closer look at the flowers…

And last, this one, I don’t get it. Did I arrive late and the flowers are dying off?
