Meet Dr Michael HENG, PBM

Senior editor of ILLUMINATION Integrated Publications on Medium

In this post, we introduce Dr Michael Heng who has been a senior and consulting editor of Illumination Integrated Publications as invited by Dr Mehmet Yildiz since their inception.

Dr Michael Heng, PBM, has over 35 years of senior management and consulting experience with local and foreign multinational corporations.

He is consulted internationally and in ASEAN on strategy, sustainability, eco-city projects, renewable energy, organizational transformation, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and logistics.

He was the International HRM Expert for the International Labor Organization (ILO), a United Nations agency, on Social Dialogue and Human Resource Management. He consulted with China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong governments for various high-level consulting projects.

Dr Heng founded his first human resource consulting company in 1992 and has since initiated several startup ventures. In addition, he participated in various humanitarian relief missions to East Timor, Nias, and Pakistan.

Dr Heng was recognized on the National Day 2002 Honor’s List and awarded the Public Service Medal (PBM) for community service by the President of Singapore.

He was conferred the CSR Leadership Award 2012 on World CSR Day 2012 “in recognition of his contributions which have made a difference to people and the community.”

Dr Heng also received a Global CSR Leadership Award at the Global CSR Summit 2012. And at the Philip Kotler World Marketing Summit 2013, he received the CSR Leadership Excellence Award.

In addition, he was an Advisor to World CSR Congress 2014–2017. In 2019, he received the Earth Care Award for Sustainability Leadership in a climate-friendly business enterprise, promoting innovative eco-friendly alternatives for sustainable development.

Dr Heng is recognized as an influential thought-leader, critical thinker, and writer on human capital, venture creation, business strategy, politics, sustainability, and CSR. He also occasionally write poetry.
