And at the same time claim that the potential human life of a fetus is to be protected at all costs, no matter if that means that women do not have autonomy in regards to their own bodies?

I do not have a way of understanding how these two thoughts can exist in the same mind, much less how there can be a whole political party that eschews the right of a woman to exist as a free individual. To justify this governmental enslavement, they use the “murder of the fetus as against the law” argument. But when those babies grow up to be cowboys and they get to be playing with guns and kill a whole mass of people then the law argument just cannot apply and besides we can’t talk about it for respect of the families of the dead. I don’t know if this set of Republican justifications of inconsistency can be overcome or not.

Here’s the problem, as I see it anyway, for the MAGAdoodle justifiers. That’s all the anti-abortion bill is about.

The gun legislation excuses are way darker even than the anti-abortion bills. Remember that MagaMike wants women to breed and produce babies so he can meet labor requirements in the years to come. The gun legislation is even darker than that.

MagaMike is and was a supporter of 45 holding on to power and to hell with elections. The New Republic reported, “Former Senator Rick Santorum complained that the major election losses Republicans suffered are actually a sign of how ‘pure democracies’ are a bad form of government.³” The reason the ex-Senator gave was pretty much because his party did not get its way. If Rick is to be believed then it is safe to say that Republicans of the MAGA ilk really want to dismantle democracy and replace it with an authoritarian theocracy. The largest problem with that is people who agree more with liberal policies than with, well these days, MAGArenditions of, “Ma, he’s looking at me again. It’s a wonderful excuse to trot out when it gets so bad that people get riled up to the point of grasping at straws to solve the problem. In such a state the MAGAdoodles can promote a 45-like personage who will willingly state that he alone can solve the mass murder epidemic. In the Maga fantasy

Is Religious Myopia a Fatal Flaw?

It seems there are two, maybe three major problems that are constantly in the news and do not seem to have any resolution. It’s really hard to tell if the holdup is political jockeying or if it’s systemic stupidity. The problem does seem to be with the legislative branch of government. One problem is this hullabaloo surrounding a woman’s right to decide if she wants to have a baby or not. The other problem is strangely coupled with the first one in a way not foreseen even by the chief psychics among us. That problem is too many guns in the hands of too many young cowboys who have no idea what that weapon is for. As of mid September of 2023, there had been 500 mass shootings in the United States¹.

Ohio voters just addressed the women’s right to choose issue by voting it into their constitution². Yet the GOP is actively pushing a total ban on any kind of abortion. But the other day when that unfortunate soul up in Maine murdered people in a bowling alley and a bar, the newly minted Speaker of the House said with a straight face and with as much hypocritical sincerity in his voice as is humanly possible, “This is not the time to discuss the gun problem.” Inferring, I suppose, that we should wait to give the survivors a chance to attend to their dead in peace. Well, isn’t that a clever back door? With 500 plus mass shootings already marked up on the calendar as of September of this year, we will never have the proper time to act on gun regulation of some variety or another.

Well, no, not us innovative Americans. No siree, we are going to build some stone altars where people can go congregate to await their end. Hell, we’re even going to have a few high caliber automatic weapons provided by our sponsors which young white men who do not have the proper resources to purchase their own weapons of war can use to dispatch the day’s volunteers. Limited use permits available to women and minorities. Of course, there will be a certain contingent who will not be volunteers. Protesters, mostly. Don’t you think that will solve the problem?

What irony are you referencing? You mean the same cackle of smug MAGAdoodle-leaning evangelical “R. congressmen”, who are so protective of the unborn they can’t talk about protecting the living? There are theological questions and legal questions about the personhood of the fetus. There are not questions about the personhood of children in a classroom or shoppers at a Walmart or concert goers or even shoppers at a grocery store. When a father and son go to a bowling alley, they should go home and enjoy each other for years to come. They should not lose their lives for sharing the enjoyment of father-son competition.

Can someone explain how MagaMike can talk thoughts and prayers while claiming the ending of the world should he move on some kind of gun legislation?

That way their whereabouts are known. But they want to pass laws that even allow the period police to track menstrual cycles.

Of course, that fantasy would not be complete unless men would be required to bring their armaments to the southern border and use brown people as targets to sharpen the sexual high they get from tanning and participating in the Annual Open Season Brown Tournament.

Yeah, I’m sure that there is not one MAGAdoodle who dares to consciously think of these fantasies. I’m also sure that this is closer to what MAGAdoodles are doing because what they say is not what they do — ever. Yes, this is disgusting. But folks, the story I’m telling is based on reported statements from MAGA luminaries.

I get that it isn’t fair to judge MagaMike and the MAGAdoodles based on the few days he has been in office. But they say leopards do not change their spots. You know it could be that the solution to the problem is to either buy a whole bunch of Stupid signs or we need to stop electing stupid people to public office.
