Inspiration is What You Need — About Any Topic
Reading list to inspire you.
Racism is a tough topic. I am in a learning phase at the moment. I want to know a lot about this topic, as it is a very important topic. I am half-Indonesian and half-Dutch. Yet, I don’t know that much about it. When I read ‘When You Are Black In America Every Action Is Met With Suspicion’ by G Correia, I understood a little bit more about this topic. It is not only an issue black people face but also white people living with and hanging out with their black spouses or friends. It is a matter that inspired me to be a better person.
When I read this inspired piece, ‘My Parents Tried to Control My Life, I Now Understand Why’ by Today I Lived, it reminded me of all the people that tried to control my life. I have been bullied, sexually abused and manipulated often in my life. I just let it happen as I thought it was normal until I got therapy.
Oh, therefore we need to think about what perfection really means and if we have to strive for being perfect or let others say what perfectness means. When I read ‘The Dark Side of Unhealthy and Pathological Perfectionism’ by Afshara, I was hooked.
Another question that you must ask yourself is if you are content with yourself and if you are happy the way you are. To think about that, you have to look into the mirror, according to Ada Lloyd in ‘When You Look In The Mirror Are You Happy With What You See?’.
Speaking about humanity, ‘Are We Really the Smartest Species on the Planet?’ by Mirei Takashima Claremon, PhD, made me think about my existence here on earth. Am I really that smart, even I know about different kinds of topics? Or am I just a small thing turning around in the cosmos?!
When you are in the cosmos, there is earth, and there on earth, there are continents, and one of the continents is Europe, and in Europe there is France. France is one of the countries I love, especially the food and their wine. In ‘3 Things I Learned on Our Family Trip to France’ David Gerken explains what he learned there on his trip with his kids.
The right partner tells you to be your utmost self, and don’t take your identity, independence from you. Even, he or she stimulate you to be your utmost self, to try new things and strengthen the things you love to do. In ‘The Right Partner Won’t Perceive Your Independence as Intimidating’ Diana C. explains it all.
And when you are with people, and you are content with whom you are, you always have to ‘Strive To Be an Uplifter’, says Camille Grady. Being positive as much as possible without losing your own identity is so important for your own mental health and your wellbeing.
And then, other people are trying to control our lives by taxing the woman menstruation hygiene. This is also a very important topic. It is our right to get this — in my opinion — for free. It is not a luxury, but a right to have. Reading this, ‘Stop Taxing My Period: Menstrual Hygiene Products Aren’t a Luxury’ by Alice Toneatto, I was flabbergasted by how much people have to pay for this. Why? Just for earning money?
