Strive To Be an Uplifter
Lets share our light

I believe the ultimate act of love is to lift up those around you whenever you can.
Never at the expense of yourself, but as a gift to humanity when you are nourished enough yourself.
It is a new era of love we are moving into. Celebrating diversity in even bigger ways and accepting people as they express themselves authentically and with more freedom.
Being a giving person can come at a cost if you have also spent your life being closed off from receiving. I wrote about my past struggles with this in this article.
This is why I believe to be an uplifter we must be participating in the mutual exchange of giving and receiving. It is a reciprocal process.
To be a truly kind and compassionate uplifter in life, we must be gracious and giving. We must allow our spirits to be lifted by other people shining. We must feel genuinely joyful with them for their successes.
There's room in the world for everyone to shine. There needn’t be any serious competition. Though some light hearted competition can be fun and useful.
I have to confess I never thought myself to be a competitive person. But the more I have worked on myself and unearthed some of my darker traits I’ll admit being competitive was something I uncovered about myself.
I am a hard taskmaster, a perfectionist at times. Though I have also learned these things are not me, they are just traits, thoughts and beliefs I have worked (and continue to work on) tempering and balancing out.
Perfectionism is one of the quickest ways to dull your shine, not to mention a quick route to criticising yourself and others. So not only will you be dulling your shine, but others will be repelled or attracted to you depending on their temperament too. This mirroring of your traits through the relationships around you is an opportunity to learn about yourself- but only if you are open to it.
I had to learn some of these tough lessons to see that uplifting others first began with being courageous enough to shine myself.
I always knew I was a natural giver in life. Though my perfectionism and self-loathing blocked me in the past from really being able to uplift others and myself. It stopped me from celebrating other people’s joy in deeper more meaningful ways and instead left me feeling jealous, lacking and competitive.
Through my relentless self-work have I started to uncover an infinite source of love that makes me want to uplift as many people as I can in my life.
Now I feel I am shining in many ways.
What it has felt like to shine has been nothing like I’d expected. The tiny, little milestones are lifting me like I never could’ve imagined. My newfound self-love is opening my heart more than ever to myself and others.
There aren't piles of money, huge awards or even vast amounts of recognition. But none of those things matter because there is a love growing inside me that is unexplainably rewarding and divine.
It is urging me to knock down even more of the barriers of my past that held me back for so long.

We can’t force people to see their light, they have to find it themselves. We can hold their hand while they journey, and when they discover the light within themselves we can celebrate with them as if it were our success- because one persons happiness is everyone's happiness (That's how uplifting works).

And by showing people we are brave enough to shine our light in the world we inspire others to do the same. We teach others through our very commitment to our hearts and truth.
So don’t be afraid to shine your light and in doing so you will be celebrating and elevating with others. You will be uplifting the collective and the beautiful souls around you.
Lets share our light.
Lets celebrate together!
