Here’s My Perspective on Artificial Intelligence.
How AI is being used and how it can be beneficial
I have been interested in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for a long time, ever since I started learning about technology, design, media, and gaming.
In a previous post, I introduced Smart Home Technologies. Some subscribers asked my opinion about AI, so I decided to create this short post to respond to them.
AI refers to the ability of computers or machines to perform tasks that would typically require human intelligence, such as learning, problem-solving, decision-making, and language understanding.
Recently, I have come across different types of AI, including narrow AI and general AI. Narrow AI is designed to perform specific tasks, while general or strong AI can perform intellectual tasks that human beings can do. My favorite is IBM’s Watson. which I will introduce in another story.
However, the ultimate goal of scientists and technologists in the field of AI is to create a machine that can think and act like a human being. This is known as cognitive computing, which I will cover in another post.
In this post, I want to share my thoughts on the current and future state of AI, with some examples.
1 — How is AI being used today?
AI is being used in a wide range of applications today. Emerging technologies like machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks make machines more intelligent and contribute to robotics.
Here are some use cases of AI in summary.
Predictive analytics
AI algorithms can analyze data and make predictions about future outcomes. This is being used in various industries, such as finance and healthcare, to forecast trends and make decisions.
Autonomous vehicles
AI is being used to develop self-driving cars and other autonomous vehicles, which can sense their environment and navigate without human input.
Image and speech recognition
AI algorithms can be trained to recognize objects, people, and language in images and audio recordings. This technology is being used in various applications, including facial recognition software and translation tools.
Personalized recommendations
AI is being used to personalize recommendations for products, content, and other services based on an individual’s past behavior and preferences.
Fraud detection
AI is being used to analyze data and detect fraudulent activity in various industries, including finance and insurance.
Virtual assistants
AI-powered virtual assistants, like Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, and Google’s Assistant, can understand and respond to voice commands to perform tasks, answer questions, and provide information.

2 — How will AI be incorporated into our lives in the future?
It is difficult to predict exactly how AI will be incorporated into our lives in the future. However, it will likely become increasingly prevalent in many areas.
Here are some possible ways in different industries that AI could be incorporated into our lives in the future.
Healthcare
AI could be used to analyze medical data, diagnose, and recommend treatment options.
Education
AI could be used to personalize learning experiences and provide customized educational content.
Transportation
AI could be used to improve the efficiency of transportation systems and reduce the need for human drivers.
Agriculture
AI could be used to optimize crop yields and improve the efficiency of farming operations.
Environment and Energy
AI could be used to monitor and protect the environment, as well as optimize the use of energy resources.
Customer Service
AI could be used to provide personalized assistance and support to customers.
It is also likely that AI will be incorporated into many other areas of our lives in many different industries in ways that we cannot yet imagine.
I believe AI will change the way we play games. I have some ideas that I’d like to share in my next post.
Summary
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a rapidly evolving field that enables computers and machines to perform tasks that would typically require human intelligence.
These tasks can include problem-solving, decision-making, and language understanding and are being used in various applications today, such as virtual assistants, predictive analytics, autonomous vehicles, image and speech recognition, personalized recommendations, and fraud detection.
AI will likely continue to play an increasingly important role in our lives in the future. Some areas where AI may be incorporated include healthcare, education, transportation, agriculture, and customer service.
It is also possible that AI will be used in many other ways that we cannot yet imagine.
I recently started reading the book chapters of Dr Mehmet Yildiz, who mentors me on Medium. He explains AI clearly. I enjoy short chapters during my breaks and learn a lot from them
