Summary

The undefined website features a guest prompt by Aswin, a poetry lover, inviting writers to explore "The element of our existence" through their stories, with an emphasis on embracing the unique aspects that give meaning to life.

Abstract

The undefined website is hosting a creative writing prompt as part of its "Guest Prompt Week 1, Day 3" series, with a focus on the philosophical theme "The element of our existence." Aswin, a contributor to the site, has proposed this prompt to inspire writers to reflect on and share what fundamentally fuels their existence. The prompt encourages participants to consider various elements such as events, people, or art that provide purpose and meaning to their lives. The website also highlights the rarity and wonder of existence itself, quoting Gene Cernan on the importance of curiosity. Furthermore, the site announces upcoming guest prompts and invites all writers, not just those associated with "Know Thyself," to participate and share their responses. The initiative aims to foster a community of storytellers who celebrate the diversity of human experience and the shared journey of self-discovery.

Prompt + short interview

Curiosity is the essence of human existence. ‘Who are we? Where are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going?’… I don’t know. I don’t have any answers to those questions. I don’t know what’s over there around the corner. But I want to find out. Gene Cernan

May you all bloom in awe for all which exists, embracing the threads and the tangled knots of this tapestry called life. It is believed that the chances of us coming into existence are infinitesimally small — yet here we are. What do you make of this?

Today’s guest is Aswin, our poetry lover who’s been writing on Know Thyself for a little over a month. His prompt idea is as brilliant as it is unexpected:

“The element of our existence.”

I asked Aswin how he came up with this prompt and here’s what he said:

“There is some element in our life that fuels day to day routine towards purpose, towards existence itself. Be it an event, a person, a piece of art or anything that gives meaning to our survival in this human world, that element is different for each and every one of us. Let our stories be heard and our fire within be embraced through this initiative.”

I’m intrigued by the limitless ideas these words have the potential of birthing. So ladies and gents, are you ready to delve into the element of your existence? If the answer is yes, go ahead and tackle this prompt whenever you get a bit of time. Looking forward to everyone’s submissions!

Also, stay tuned for next week’s guest prompts that will be released on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Thank you Aswin for sharing your creativity with us! Love and light. 💛
