An Open Letter to Kids in Italy
Good News for Italian Kids Regarding ChatGPT
Yay! ChatGPT ban is removed and back to use again.

Hey kids, thank you for checking out this story. I believe you like playing games like me. This bit is for adults, so you jump to this intro and read my letter full of good news for you.
Previously, I wrote two articles about the ChatGPT situation in Italy. The first one was about the unexpected banning, and the second one was about the flexibility government put and showed promise to open it. I link them at the end of this story.
In this story, I provide the good news on the Italian government’s decision to allow ChatGPT. I wrote this story for kids as they are significantly affected by it.
Here is a quick letter to children and adolescents in Italy who missed out on ChatGPT for a while.
Hey there Kids from Italy!
I have some exciting news to share with you about ChatGPT, a super smart computer program that can talk and answer questions like a real person. I know you missed it for a while.
Did you know that ChatGPT is just one example of a type of computer program called artificial intelligence, or AI for short?
AI is like having a super smart computer brain that can help us do all kinds of cool things, like find information, play games, and even talk to our friends all over the world.
But with all that power comes responsibility. Some countries, including Italy, got worried that ChatGPT was collecting people’s information without their permission, which is not cool. So, they decided to stop using ChatGPT for a while.
The good news is that ChatGPT’s creators, we call them OpenAI, listened to the concerns and made some changes to make it safer and more respectful of people’s privacy.
For example, they made it so you can turn off your chat history and choose not to let them use your information.
OpenAI also wants to ensure that ChatGPT doesn’t accidentally make up fake information or news about things. That’s called an AI “hallucination,” and it’s not good. They’re working hard to make sure ChatGPT only gives real, accurate answers.
Now, here’s some brother advice for you. As much as AI is cool and can help us do amazing things, it’s important to remember always to be safe when using the internet.
Never give out your personal information to anyone, including computer programs like ChatGPT. Always ask a trusted adult for help if you’re unsure about something.
And finally, here’s a fun idea!
You can play games with ChatGPT to improve your brainpower. For example, you can ask ChatGPT to solve a riddle or a puzzle.
Or, you can ask ChatGPT to tell you a story and then try to remember as many details as possible. These types of games can help improve your memory and critical thinking skills.
So, don’t worry, ChatGPT is still super cool and helpful. And its creators are doing their best to ensure it’s safe and respectful for everyone.
Have fun exploring the world of AI and stay safe on the internet!
The End of Message for Kiddos. Bye for now.
I recently posted an interesting situation OpenAI asked a developer to remove his code. You may check the story to learn about this development.
