End Of Year Review Of The Journey Travelled On Illumination
It's been a good year for the writing

Over the past seven months, since I joined Illumination, like all of my fellow editors, I have reviewed dozens of writers and hundreds, not to say thousands, of pieces of writing. And I have to say I have never met such a talented bunch of people. Not only that, in fact maybe even more than that, is the fact that the writers have been really great fun to work with.
I have seen people grow as writers, people like Aldric Chen, and others who are great writers but who didn't think they were and who have grown in confidence. I have also come across writers who had the writers beans and the confidence to go with it.
In all cases it has been an honour and a privilege to walk alongside these great writers on their journey. And in five cases, that journey has brought them to join us as Editors. Hopefully quite a few more will step up to the plate and become an Editor. However, what is really satisfying is seeing people reach their full potential as writers and as human beings.
It has been a truly amazing year and in 2021, I am looking forward with great excitement to raising the bar for myself, our readers and writers and of course for our publications.
In the meantime, please feel free to dip into any of the links below where you will come across some 135 pieces which caught my attention, and where I first spotted that writing promise in people like Aldric Chen and editor potential in people like Thewriteyard Maria Rattray Stuart Englander Haimish Mead and John Cunningham.
In my own case during the past seven months I have grown as a writer far beyond what I ever expected and became a Top Writer in Short Stories and Poetry. I became a Senior Editor for three publications, Illumination, Illumination Curated and Technology Hits, and I have written about 1,500 pieces and published seven books. I have to say this was all only possible thank you to Dr Mehmet Yildiz and his Illumination publications along with our loyal readers, and fellow writers and editors. Next step? Whatever it is, bring it on.
