Challenging the phrases ‘Third time’s the charm’ and ‘Second parts are not good’ — All in a single article.

On my birthday, I published the article ‘Happy and Grateful,’ aiming to explain how to use mentions when writing articles.

However, I’ve noticed that I can explain it better.

That’s why I’m going to try to do it better and challenge the saying that ‘third time’s the charm’ and also ‘second parts were never good.’

So I’m going to reuse the original text and present an easier way for you all to use this tool and thank the support of your followers in a way that isn’t usually used.

Happy and Grateful. Thank You

Happy and Grateful. Thank You

On September 12th, it was my birthday, and I would have like published this article on the same day, but I really wanted to make it special, so Im posting it a few days later.

First of all, thank you very much for all the positive and supportive messages you have written to me, and I decided not to respond to give you a surprise and show you a trick that not many people know.

You are probably noticing that these words are not in the usual color that the draft allows us to use when writing.

This is because these words are taken directly from all the people I am mentioning here, all the people I didnt respond to because I wanted to included you in this special post.

And I will show you how you can do it too, especially when you want to celebrate with your entire audience, who encourages and supports you in giving your best, and I know they will appreciate this kind of article. But before I explain how its done, I would like to deliver a clear message.

I dont know the exact situation of each person reading these words.

We can go through various situations, from writers block to moments of disappointment or lack of motivation because plans dont allways go as one wishes.

These are the situations that make us grow and overcome every obstacle, but overcome them, you need to be motivated and excited.

Because only you write the pages of your life, not the obstacles you are destined to overcome.

Now, I will take this opportunity to explain briefly how to make it easy for you to apply this process, should you wish to do so.

  • First, you need to have the text finished and create a list with all the people you want to mention. Then, select the letter of each mention, copy it, and duplicate the text, but with the mention.
  • Proceed to fill in all the previously written text, but only with the mentions.
  • Make sure to convey to your audience that their name does not appear and that it is a part of their mention included in the text.

Also, be sure to mark when you copy a letter of the person mentioned, as there will come a time when you may not remember who you have not mentioned.

Overall, it’s a wonderful practice that not many people are familiar with — a great way to reciprocate the value your audience consistently provides you.

So, if you feel inspired, it would be an absolute pleasure to be mentioned by you without my name. It would signify that I have explained this process effectively and that you will remember me.

How to Convert Mentions into Text( Updated Explanation)

The first step is to create a list containing the mentions of your followers and keep it in the draft. Once this process is completed, the article should be entirely written and edited.

Next, use the ‘Ctrl + F’ keys.

Start with the written text and identify the first letter that appears in the text.

Enter this letter into the ‘Find’ box using the ‘Ctrl + F’ function. This action will display all instances of that word. Next, refer to the list of mentions and select the corresponding letter, then mark the follower’s mention accordingly.

This step is crucial because when dealing with numerous mentions, it helps track who has been mentioned and who hasn’t.

It’s akin to solving a puzzle where it’s easy to get lost, but this method is the most effective.

Once you’ve copied the letter and marked it on the list as selected, paste the mentioned letter into the article and duplicate the text. I’ll include images to make it more intuitive — proof that sometimes an image is worth more than a thousand words.

I need a capital A, and Amir has it. So, I select the capital A, copy it, and paste it near the original text.

I need a capital A, and Amir has it. So, I select the capital A, copy it, and paste it near the original text. Now it would be a lowercase ‘l,’ so I continue with the same process.
All of you are the best

Now that you know how to apply this, it’s time to demonstrate why your followers have chosen to follow your adventures and experiences both on and off Medium. Converting a thousand-word article from mentions to text can take 20 to 30 hours of work, but I assure you, it’s worth it; they are always there and deserve the recognition they merit.

This is a unique way that they can’t even imagine you do, so why not?

  • It’ll be a surprise they won’t anticipate.
  • Begin by compiling a list of your followers’ mentions and keep it in your draft. Once this list is ready, complete writing and editing your article.
  • Use the ‘Ctrl + F’ function to find specific mentions in your text by entering the first letter associated with each mention. This technique streamlines the process by displaying all instances of that word, making it easier to track and incorporate mentions.
  • To mark who has been mentioned, refer to the list and indicate each mention, ensuring no follower is missed.
  • Managing numerous mentions resembles solving a puzzle; this method ensures no mention goes unnoticed, facilitating a smoother process.
  • After selecting and marking the mention in your list, insert it into your article and duplicate the text. For instance, needing a capital ‘A,’ I find it in Amir’s mention, copy, and paste it alongside the original text.
  • Understanding this process empowers you to showcase why your followers engage with your Medium content. While converting mentions to text demands significant time, the effort pays off, honoring the unwavering support of your followers.
  • This unique approach sets you apart and surprises your audience, offering them an unexpected and delightful experience.”
