How To Have Authority In Your Writing, Even If You Are Just Starting. Please, No More ‘newbie’ Word Because You’re Not One.

That’s right.
Having quality in writing is a matter of time, dedication, and effort, but that doesn’t make you a newbie. In fact, with our actions, decisions, and thoughts, we write the chapters of our own lives.
It is fundamentally important to know, even if you are just beginning to write here or on any platform, that you have more to teach than someone with more experience.
More enthusiasm, more desire to inspire people who have the opportunity to read you. Indeed, it is your job to keep that enthusiasm alive through the experience you gain because, for one reason or another, not all successful writers maintain that enthusiasm from day one.
This is one of the reasons why the word ‘newbie’ does not represent you.
- First, because you are not.
- Second, because you have much to teach to experienced writers who may have lost their enthusiasm along the way.
In my short experience here on Medium, I have been able to observe and put into practice attitudes and skills that help me maintain the same enthusiasm, even more so than on the first day.
- Even when you receive unconstructive feedback.
- Even when you do not receive the interaction with other users that you deserve.
These are tests to forge you with a warrior’s mindset because, let’s be honest, the pain is psychological, but when you grow through these challenges and situations, you become a more complete person in your life and in your writing as well.
You have probably heard ‘collaborate with your community,’ but it is not always the case.

It is a theory that, when put into practice, would benefit us all.
Because in the end, it is actions, not words, that determine attitude, and when a word is written, it is important to follow through, as it’s about congruency.
Keep in mind that I am speaking from my experience.
Likewise, it is important to recommend the work of other people when you see that they produce value. To me, this is the true value you can, and in my opinion, should provide.
You will brighten the day of the person you recommend because you will bring your audience closer to other individuals who, like you, generate value. Moreover, the norm is self-promotion, and by doing so, you will set yourself apart from others who only self-promote.
- You will inspire those who self-promote that there is no better self-promotion than recommending the gems of our peers.
- You will create a true spirit of camaraderie and good vibes.
That’s why the word ‘newbie’ does not represent any of us, not you, not me, not anyone.
It’s time to develop the true value within us and move away from limiting words that only bring doubt, distrust, and separate us from true greatness, which, as you know, is being human.
We don’t need any other labels.

- No More ‘Newbie’: Let’s kick the ‘newbie’ label to the curb. You’re not a novice, and it’s time to acknowledge your worth.
- Writing is a Journey: Becoming a great writer takes time, dedication, and effort. Don’t underestimate your potential just because you’re starting out.
- A Wealth of Knowledge: Even as a beginner, you have valuable insights to share. Your enthusiasm and passion to inspire others set you apart.
- Sustain Your Enthusiasm: It’s essential to keep your enthusiasm alive, even in the face of challenges and unhelpful feedback. These experiences make you a stronger individual and writer.
- Community Collaboration: Collaborate with your writing community. Actions speak louder than words. Recommending others’ work is a meaningful contribution.
- Promote Through Recommendation: Distinguish yourself by recommending the work of your peers. It’s a win-win, fostering camaraderie and positivity within the community.
- Embrace Your Humanity: Let go of limiting labels and embrace your humanity. True greatness lies in being human. The rest of the labels are unnecessary.
Remember, you’re not a ‘newbie.’
You’re on a writing journey that holds immense potential. Embrace your role in the community, support others, and let your humanity shine.
