These are simple routines, I’ve started following since April 2020 and it really helping me with my mental health and anxiety. If I can do it, I am one hundred percent sure you can do it too. The only key is to find things that motivates you and you enjoy doing it.

You don’t need to start with all, pick any one and stick with it. Something is better than nothing. It can take you too be a wholesome person.

Why wait, start from today and keep a journal or take a picture to record your day-to-day progress.

1. Small change in your daily routine can help scale up your life.

1% good change in a day can lead you to improve nearly 40% of your life.

If you are in your fitness journey, or working toward your professional goals, trying to learn a new skill, one small habit can lead you to a success ladder or doom you for your entire life.

Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear last year and it made me think and think hard, there are many things in life I just do for sake of a habit, and I hardly noticed it before I came across this book.

This book is so powerful, I am going to write a review on it very soon.

It says, on average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact.

In other words, if you want to set your expectations appropriately, the truth is that it will probably take you anywhere from two months to eight months to build a new behavior into your life .

Whether you are trying to save up money or lose a few extra pounds, it depends on daily habits of taking and how long you are going to practice.

2. Reading more and less TV /Netflix

If you are a Game of Thrones fan like me, you must know this quote from Tyrion Lannister —

“My mind is my weapon. My brother has his sword, King Robert has his Warhammer, and I have my mind… and a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge. That’s why I read so much”

Reading books can help you to develop concentration, create a unique perspective on things and help you to overcome difficult situations and increase your mind creativity.

If you don’t like reading, listen to audio books, subscribe to Podcast, YouTube Channel. The idea is t set some time aside for your personal growth.

3. Stop bothering what other people might think

I am guilty of thinking constantly what other people might say and not thinking about myself.

I realized over the time, there will always be some people who will not say or think good things about you. End of the day, the only thing that matters is what YOU think. Don’t let other people’s judgment affect you. You are good and you’re doing your best.

Why not start writing 4–5 things you are good it. Self assurance is required to reduce self criticism.

“It is our attitude toward events, not events themselves, which we can control. Nothing is by its own nature calamitous — even death is terrible only if we fear it.” — Epictetus

4. Health is Wealth

You know this old saying and it’s so true. Giving importance to your physical and mental health can make all the difference in your life and people around you.

Everything is possible. Start with a slow walk for 30 minutes or run or 15 mins, daily meditation for 5 minutes etc. It can make your mind calm, your body relaxed and energized .

If you are suffering from anxiety or mental health issues, seek professional help.

5. Importance of Writing or any creative outlet

I have been writing since I was a teenager. But it was mostly personal to me and never had guts to share with people.

It can help you think out of the box.

Now I learned how important it is to write and pen down your thoughts. It’s kind of therapeutic and meditative.

If you don’t know how to express yourself verbally or find yourself less expressive in words, why not start writing your thoughts on a paper.

It doesn’t matter, just keep writing for yourself. You love doing it. It will help you to overcome any fear or insecurity you might have.

“Courage isn’t having the strength to go on, it is going on when you don’t have the strength.” — Napoleon Bonaparte

6. Taking enough Rest

It’s a shame that rest is looked down upon. Resting = Laziness. How horrible is that?

You’re not a machine. You’re human. Your brain and body thrive after you rest. You’re meant to take breaks to perform better. Better work and health comes from resting, not from working more!

As most of you know, one of my themes to chase in 2022 is to rest often, and rest more.

So whoever needs to hear this, don’t forget to take enough breaks and don’t give yourself a hard time for taking them.

Not by changing my environment, but by working on my inner environment.

Lastly,

Let’s start by setting some hard boundaries to do less of a few things so we can do more. May be start exercising, spend more time with family and friends or start a new hobby or revive some old hobbies that you used to love.

In short anything that makes you happier and joyful.

Be Bold

Be Courageous

Be Your Best
