3 Signs You May Have a Spiritual Gift
A gift that’s been hidden from your sight all along
1. You Desire The Gift
Spiritual gifts are something you do not desire unless you already have them. Regardless of what your carnal mind tells you, no matter what others tell you, and no matter what your fears and insecurities tell you, you have a gift if you desire a gift.
The Holy Spirit comes into a person’s life bearing gifts that are unseen but take root as they are placed within them. Most people will doubt this, but that is only because they haven’t discovered their own gifts.
When you desire a spiritual gift, who would have put this desire there? Your adversary? Your enemies? Your haters maybe? The flesh? Your adversary who is the enemy only seeks to steal, kill, and destroy so he wouldn’t give you a gift that helps you and others’ lives improve. The flesh never wants to do anything that pleases God, and your haters hate that you have the gift.
You desire a gift so you can find it.
It is your spirit that has a longing to see people free from demonic bondage. It is the spirit that desires your prayers during spiritual warfare to be more effective. It is your spirit that has the desire for holiness and godliness. You are curious about the spiritual realm not because of your flesh but because of your spirit.
Good people receive spiritual gifts from above so that they may use their gifts for the benefit of themselves and others.
Love is the greatest gift of all, therefore, strive for love as your highest goal. But if you desire a godly gift and other special abilities only the Holy Spirit can provide, you already have it. Ask and wait for them to be revealed to you.
Your desire for a particular gift is a sign that you already have the gift.
2. Others See The Gift in You
The greatest sign you have a gift is when others are able to see it in you. Sometimes others see a person’s greatness before the person does.
Oftentimes, other people will notice the gift you have within yourself before you do. This doesn’t mean that others must see your gift for you to have it.
A gift is a gift. It can’t be taken back if you don’t use it. It lies dormant whether you or others can see it and you can start using it the moment you see it.
If you have a true gift, you won’t have to go around announcing it. It shows and makes room for you.
It is your gifts that lead you to places. It drives and moves you to take inspired action. It is a man’s gifts that bring him before great men.
What people see in you can help you discover your spiritual gift. When people keep telling you you have what it takes to be something great, believe them.
Sometimes others see a person’s greatness before the person does.
3. You See The Gift
It might be the most obvious sign, but it’s also the most telling: The ability to sense or see a gift operating in your life and the lives of others is a sign you have a gift.
The Holy Spirit is the source of all good spiritual gifts. If you notice that you sometimes pray in a foreign language, you may have a gift. If you have the wisdom to teach people the way they should go, you may have a gift. If you are a person who inspires, encourages, and restores faith in the soul of a person, you may have a gift. If your discernment is so sharp you serve as a mouthpiece for the Holy Spirit, you have a gift.
Don’t limit your gifts or take them for granted.
You may think you can just read people or predicting the future, but it could be a gift of prophecy or discernment. When you have the gift of faith, you might just think you have a positive outlook on life. You may think miraculous things happen around you, but you may have the gift of miracles.
In spite of how you feel, what you see or don’t see, you have a gift if you see the gift, and it was given to you for a reason.
Your gift is to sustain and make room for you. It is your gifts that give you a seat at the table. Your gifts were given to you so you can give them away to benefit others.
Do not forgo your God-given gifts and live life on auto-pilot working for someone else because you refuse to see and use your gifts.
Pay close attention to your spirit and you may discover a gift. A gift that belongs to you but has been hidden from your sight all along.
Then you can use your gifts and watch it change your life and everything else.
