With Love From Japan

My expression of love through my favourite poetic styles

Haiku’d in your love

forever I wish to be

Just words- you and me!

I love writing poetry and especially short, sweet and meaningful ones that are blooming with love. Thus when I learnt Haiku – the 17th century’s Japanese art of poetry, it made me fall in love again. Not just with that, but with life and it gave new birth to my words.

Basically, Haiku was birthed out of Hokku the other Japanese poetic form commonly known as Tanka. Imagine since Hokku was 5 lines and 27 syllables in total, Haiku was derived to shorten that and bring it to 17 syllables, being the 1st three lines.

Now moving on from their history, I’d like to share with you my favourite Haikus and Hokkus.

I truly hope you enjoy reading these as much as I did writing them.
