White Privilege Means Your Irrational Fears are Always Validated

This means you need to listen to Black People (not the white supremacy-compliant ones).

What made you fear us?

An 85-year-old white American conservative, Andrew Lester, who shot a Black teenager, Ralph Yarl, at his front door in Kansas City, Missouri. Ralph Yarl rang the doorbell of Lester’s home due to being at the wrong door.

A mix-up on addresses.

A 16-year-old Black child was nearly killed for knocking on the door of a racist old white man. Due to a mix-up of addresses.

Black people, are always right about racism. Because we can’t afford to be wrong about racism. When we are wrong about racism, we die.

When white people are wrong about racism, they smile because it’s not a threat to anything about their comfort. When we — Black people — are wrong about racism, we die. There’s a big difference there. Listen to me.

Or, nearly die, because conservative media consumer Andrew Lester definitely tried to murder little Ralph Yarl. He shot him once through the glass of the home he owns. Once he downed the teenager, Lester opens up the door and shot him again with his 32-caliber revolver.

Ralph Yarl survived, miraculously.

I want to talk about how Andrew Lester’s grandson, Klint Ludwig, is letting the public know how racist, stupid, Trumpian, racist, Q-Anonic, stupid, trashy, white supremacist, conservative, and stupid he is. But I’m not going to do that.

I want to talk about how racism is comorbid with conservative thought (or lack of). But I’m not going to do that.

I want to talk about how conservative media is trying to defend this racist old bag of shit. But, however, I’m not going to do that.

I want to talk about the fear. I want to talk about your fear, white America.

I want to talk about your irrational fear of Black people, and more importantly, how your white privilege shield it from social critique, thus validating this bullshit fear which enables you to murder us on sight.

White People, I have questions

White people, before we begin, I have a question: do you enjoy this? Do you enjoy murdering us, or having the near-legal ability to murder us on trigger reflex? Do you enjoy having Black people walking around worried, in constant fear?

Are we supposed to fear you? Are we as Black people, supposed to be afraid of knocking on the wrong door — yours?

Should we look down at the ground when walking by white people? Would that make you happy? Do you want also want to have all Black men call white boys men, as you call all Black men boys?

Is this your design for this society, white people? Is this your plan? Because I’m trying to figure out how much Jim Crow you wish to keep. I’m trying to figure out how come you don’t check your racist ass family members. Because you don’t challenge white comfort on race relations, Black people die. Or nearly die, like what Ralph Yarl survived.

How much Jim Crow you and your conservative friends are crowing for?

The Fear

We know Black people put white people on edge, especially Black people a white person doesn’t know. We also know this is compounded by if we are male, muscular, or large.

We know white people navigate America’s racial diversity like a Tolkien fantasy: whites are the only “normal” ones, while us Blacks, Latin folk, and Asians are nothing but a bunch of ogres, elves, and dwarves. We know you see us as so radically different than you, even though you seek to weaponize the words of wise men (you assassinated, by the way) to silence us.

We know these things.

We really need you to reevaluate how you look at all of this.

When you still have your modern-day klancestors shoot us through doors and glass all because we knocked on a door? We all need you to reevaluate your irrational fear of Black people. And I might be giving you too much credit, because using the term reevaluate brings the notion you at least looked at it before when I know damn sure you never have.

We know your fear, because this has happened before. Renisha McBride was murdered by the toxic combination of white privilege and white racial fear in 2013, knocking on a door when she was the one in need.

Conclusion

It is a white privilege to always have your fears — irrational or not — validated.

White people’s fears run the Republican Party, which means this country is ran by irrational, crazy ass white racial fear. Democrats don’t matter as a neutralizer here because they don’t do a damn thing to deter, degrade, challenge, or destroy Republican regressive, white supremacist policy. Centrism is a performance of political narcissism, and Democrats are those centrists.

In challenging white racial fear, you actually have a lot of help out here. There’s more than enough Black writers who have an excellent grasp on all of this.

I, for starters, know you and your white friends go through the five stages of grief when approached with the reality of race relations in America. I think you can navigate all of that, which is why I wrote about it. Your white racial fear should not be a permanent residence, as in, it’s not a position you should hold forever. There’s a means you can become a good white asset out here.

We cannot risk

Colorblind logic makes white people stupid. Such thought, or lack of, renders white people (and all those who follow) inefficacious. To be colorblind is to be blind to your own racism. Why? Because white people always held the fucking paintbrush.

And that’s another thing — your ignorance is a white privilege. Again, Black people cannot afford to be as dumb as you on these issues, because if so, we die.

There’s so much to this, and people like Ron DeSantis, want to keep you more stupid. So what are you going to choose? The blinders so you can shoot more of us on trigger reflex? Or knowledge so you can stop your klancestors from operating like Andrew Lester?

Black people’s rational fears don’t get to be made policy in America like white people’s irrational fears. This is why Black Lives Matter as a phrase exist. Because it is clear our lives don’t matter when it comes to white people’s fear of Black people merely living.

Evaluate your fear of Black people. Ask yourself why you felt that way when the big Black dude walked by you in the grocery store. Ask yourself why you feel that way, feeling that tension when a random Black person shows up in your line of sight.

Because I don’t want to see another Andrew Lester, with his ugly, humpback of Notredame, no-neck-having ass. That Klu Klux conservative fuck.

Anyway, Malcolm X once asked Black people, “What made you hate yourselves?” I am now asking white people, “What made you fear us?”

Examine that shit.
