What’s One Piece You Wrote Earlier That Deserves to be Seen?

Sometimes, we’re caught in that treadmill of churning out new writing, new ideas, new pieces that we forget that a lot of what we’ve already written deserves to be seen by anyone new who has joined your community of supporters.

A few tips:

• You can now SEND old pieces again directly to everyone who has subscribed to you on Medium!
• The algorithm might not promote you but don’t sleep on your own articles! Build a simple list, maybe even an excel sheet, to keep track of old pieces that you want others to come across once in a while!
• Write a shortform that adds a related tidbit that links back to the topic of the longer / older piece!

What are your tips? Which pieces do you think should be seen? Even if you don’t hop on to this shortform prompt, be sure to comment your piece as well, I’ll add everything to my to read list!

Here’s mine:

I’d written this one in response to a prompt series where I take Chinese metaphors and write about my relationship, experience or take on them as someone who grew up exposed to numerous cultures.

I really love how cathartic this piece was to write, and how it really captures the essence of this phrase that isn’t as succinct and elegant as the four-letter zinger in my mother tongue.
