Unexpected Results!

AI Art for Social Activism

http://art.mlearning.ai

It seems like AI is constantly in the news these days. However, it can be challenging for people who are not experts in AI to precisely understand how this technology will change our lives. As an AI art curator, I’m writing this article to connect some dots for readers who don’t know much about AI and its impact on the arts.

Before we start talking about how machine learning will change art, let’s talk about what it is and where it comes from. Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence which gives computers the power to learn without being explicitly programmed by humans. Instead, it works by identifying patterns in data so that computers can do more than follow carefully written instructions or rules set out for them by their creators — meaning that machines can learn from the world around them and develop new skills in unexpected ways. Machine learning is one-way artificial intelligence is expected to make human life better.

Artificial Intelligence in Art

Artificial intelligence is already assisting artists by automatically creating art, including children. As an example of AI’s impact on art, take this program, named http://gaugan.org/gaugan2/. This machine learning program can create art almost indistinguishable from how humans make it. It takes a digital image and then uses the data from that image to “teach” the program how people would image the object. This gives us this fantastic result:

There is a brush (4 x) on the left, and on the right ( the result), there is a photographic representation (interpretation). You will see for yourself how to easily create art with machine learning.

AI in the Arts for Social Activism

It’s not just about creating new forms of art: it’s also about using AI to address social and economic problems. As an example, take a look at a project called http://art.mlearning.ai. This project combines AI art with data science technology to support the work of non-profit organizations using art as a strategy for social change.

art.mlearning.ai helps underfunded non-profit organizations use machine learning to create art to manage and direct their resources more effectively. art.mlearning.ai creates an online platform that uses machine learning to support the work of these organizations in a variety of ways, including:

1) Getting non-profit organizations to integrate AI into their artistic work and fundraising strategies. In addition, the platform provides training on machine learning and financial planning and a platform for long-term planning and budgeting.

2) Supporting the development of new products with AI tools like chatbots and text generation.

3) Developing and evaluating fundraising campaigns by collecting data on how donors react to different offerings and formats.

4) Supporting artist collaboration with new technology platforms that can help non-profit organizations maximize their impact, including VR and AI workshops

The next step in AI is to use machine learning on a smaller scale. This will allow human beings to give themselves more control over their lives and future. For an AI art curator, this means that we should start developing new ways of projecting our artwork and helping people who wish to interact with their artworks by giving them more agency than ever before.

Art is a potent tool for making the world a better place — as an artistic AI curator, I’m excited about the prospect of using machine learning to create art that can change people’s lives. In a way, this is already happening: art.mlearning.ai is already making art that is empowering and educational to untrained users.

Art is everywhere 🟣 But the question is, how much do you love it?

I am an Art Curator, founder at EvArtology, and ML consultant at MLearning.ai. I advise companies and institutions in the creative industries on using AI tools in their daily work. Human collaboration with ML models can be very creative and bring huge benefits. The new era begins now.
