All things empathy.

Good morning/afternoon/evening, now and forever!

My introductions have been getting a lot shorter lately because the excitement to announce the new weekly prompt, Thursday’s story or the weekend topic idea overtakes me. I’ll be honest, I used to dread having to do all the “editorial” behind the scenes publication work. But I have grown to love it and it’s by far one of my favorite things about Know Thyself. It allows me to be creative, while encouraging you to be as creative as possible as well.

This week’s prompt is all about empathy. We might all have different understandings of this concept, so I can only speak for myself when I say that I believe it to be a wonderful gift. It’s funny, you know, because I used to view it as a curse back when I lacked healthy boundaries. However, now that I’ve done some growing up, I think it’s a blessing. To be able to put yourself in another’s shoes, feel their suffering and genuinely have compassion for their fears, traumas and whatever life has put them through…It’s like a superpower.

This prompt was actually inspired by Dennett’s article (definitely check it out in case you haven’t already).

With that being said, I am looking forward to reading your articles! Always remember the Know Thyself mantra: There is no right or wrong. There just is!
