PROMPTED POETRY | ROLLERCOASTER OF LIFE
Shadows
The darkness of light

Day and night Dark and light Duality strikes Light births shadows
Sun and full moon glow bright Acceptance with no fight Balanced at the centre Shade contained, constrained
Almost non-existent BUT Always there Darkness within
Angles change Shadows advance Shadows recede Unique reason Fertilised season Starless purpose
Snapping at the wind
Damn mess
Barking at the dark
Always more Behind the clouds
Dissolving black Transparent
Seeking the full moon
Longing to be the Sun
Thanks, 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘊. for this week’s prompt. — You are so right, this week’s topic isn’t lighthearted.
I feel each of us have volumes worth of words to say on this topic.
But still, I hesitated on what to write.
Currently challenged by shadows from my past and what-ifs from the future BUT while immersing in a full serving of life.
New rays of light opening doors of infinite possibilities.
It is a strange feeling.
I am walking through shadows with a lump in my throat, but happy. Really happy. Occasionally snappy. A few tears here and there, but no major leaks.
It almost feels like I am stronger at dissolving and resolving my shadows.
Are the tools that powerful? It seems like they are.
Deluded or numb.
I can’t tell.
I don’t think it matters either way.
What will be will be. What I need to be and become.
Once again — amused to be confused.
Embracing shadows while basking in glimpses of bright light.
Light and dark both present.
Always.
The angles of perception, now closer to my reach.
Thank you for reading
