There’s a New Sea of Thieves Game Mode Which Allows You to Play in a Private Server
You can have a server for yourself or for you and your friends.
In some of my past chats, I’ve chatted about cool gaming stuff, and you can check those out at the end of this post. But today, I’m super stoked to talk about this fresh game mode that’s dropping in Sea of Thieves.
It’s all about giving players the option to hop into their own private server, either solo or with their crew of mates. How awesome is that?
The lurking danger in every corner has to be one of the best aspects of Sea of Thieves. You never know if that brigantine racing toward you is looking to make pals or looking to spill some blood on those salty waters.
But hey, not everyone’s a fan of this heart-pounding action-packed life on the high seas, and for those who prefer their pirate escapades a bit tamer, the game’s creators over at Rare are adding a fresh game mode to the mix called Safer Seas.
This new mode will let you set sail solo or with your trusty crew of mateys without all the nail-biting encounters.
Mike Chapman, the creative director, spilled the beans on this upcoming addition. He said:
“Over the last five years of creating Sea of Thieves, the game has grown into this massive experience with so many diverse aspects to it.
And the reality of that is, we want to teach people how to play the game, but we also don’t want to lose the joy of discovery.”
So, Safer Seas is like a cozy tutorial island for all you landlubbers out there. It’s the perfect spot to learn the ropes and get the feel of the game before venturing into the wild, untamed High Seas.
Now, you might be wondering what happens to High Seas once Safer Seas sets anchor. Well, they’re renaming it, matey! It’ll go by the name “High Seas” once Safer Seas is up and running.
But hold onto your eyepatches, because there’s a catch. Safer Seas is meant to be a “complementary” experience, so don’t expect it to have its own unique bells and whistles.
The pace of earning reputation and gold will be slower, just 30% of what you’d get in High Seas. Trading company progression is capped at level 40, and you won’t be able to earn that coveted Pirate’s Legend rank in Safer Seas. That means the exclusive content tied to the Athena’s Fortunate trading company is off-limits in this mode.
Now, I know what some hardcore Sea of Thieves players are thinking — “Pirates these days are getting soft!” But trust me, this mode is a breath of salty sea air. It’s not just for the newbies; we seasoned sailors can benefit too.
Have you ever tried tackling one of those epic Tall Tale adventures? They can be a real-time sink, and worrying about your ship sinking while you’re out adventuring can be a real buzzkill. Safer Seas takes that stress off your shoulders, letting you tackle those lengthy quests without a care in the world. It’s also a godsend for solo players.
Getting jumped by a skilled crew in a big, scary ship is a nightmare, but sometimes you just want to kick back and enjoy some peaceful fishing. It’s a real chill experience, as long as no one’s lobbing cannonballs at your fishing rod.
Final Words
Even in Safer Seas, you can’t escape the antics of your mischievous crewmates.
So, always keep one eye on the horizon and one hand on your cutlass.
You never know when a friendly game of cards might turn into a full-blown mutiny!
