There Have Been Some Rumors of a Nintendo Switch 2
Here are some details on rumored features for the next generation of the Nintendo Switch console.

So, in some of my previous posts, I talked about different stuff regarding the awesome Nintendo Switch. You can find the links to those posts at the end of this one.
But today, I wanna chat about how crazy popular the Switch is and spill some juicy rumors about the next Switch console. Let’s dive right in!
Why is the Nintendo Switch so popular?
The Nintendo Switch is the coolest thing since sliced bread! This little gadget has taken the gaming world by storm and for good reason. It’s like the Swiss Army knife of gaming consoles, offering a whole new level of versatility and fun. So, why is the Nintendo Switch so popular? Well, grab a seat and let me break it down for you.
First off, the Switch hits that sweet spot between being a home console and a portable gaming device. You can dock it on your TV and play games with your friends or family, just like you would with any other console. But here’s the kicker, you can also take it with you on the go!
Whether you’re chilling at the park, traveling on a long flight, or even hiding in the bathroom during a family gathering (we’ve all been there), you can whip out your Switch and play your favorite games anytime, anywhere. It’s like having a little gaming oasis in your pocket.
Now, let’s talk about the games. Nintendo has always been known for its incredible lineup of exclusive titles, and the Switch is no exception. From the charming and delightful “Super Mario Odyssey” to the adrenaline-pumping “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” there’s something for everyone.
And let’s not forget about the party games like “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” and “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” that guarantee hours of chaotic fun with friends. Plus, with the Nintendo eShop, you have access to a wide range of indie games and classics from previous Nintendo consoles. It’s like a never-ending buffet of gaming goodness.
But it’s not just about the games. The Switch has a unique and innovative design that sets it apart from the competition. The Joy-Con controllers are these tiny wonders that can be detached from the console and used as separate controllers for multiplayer action.
They even have motion controls and HD Rumble, adding a whole new level of interactivity to gaming. And if you’re into fitness, there’s the Nintendo Switch Ring Fit Adventure that will get you off the couch and sweating in no time.
Last but not least, there’s something undeniably nostalgic about Nintendo. For many of us, it’s like a blast from the past, reminding us of our childhood days spent playing Super Mario on the NES or battling with Link in The Legend of Zelda.
The Switch taps into that nostalgia and combines it with modern technology, creating this irresistible package that appeals to both the old and the new generation of gamers.
Rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2?
We’re already halfway through 2023 and Nintendo still hasn’t officially announced a successor to the good old Nintendo Switch, which is now seven years old! But despite that, there’s been a ton of rumors and speculation about the next console, considering it has sold over 125 million units.
People have been talking about a Switch Pro for years, thinking it would be a mid-generation upgrade. But unless Nintendo plans to keep the Switch around until 2030, I think we’re beyond that point now. Maybe the next Nintendo hardware release will be called the Switch 2, or maybe they’ll surprise us with something completely different. Here’s the latest scoop.
The big question about the Switch 2 is when it will be released, and there are two camps on this. Some believe it could come out in 2023, while others are more convinced it’ll be in 2024.
The chances of a 2023 release seems slim after the June 2023 Nintendo Direct. They announced a bunch of games, including a new 2D Mario game called Super Mario Bros. Wonder, but there was no mention of new hardware. Releasing a new console before those games launch in late 2023 would be shooting themselves in the foot.
On the other hand, the evidence for a 2024 release seems stronger. One report claims that Nintendo’s President, Shuntaro Furukawa, hasn’t mentioned any new or upgraded hardware in financial reports until at least April 2024. Plus, with the upcoming launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it wouldn’t make sense to release the game on outdated hardware.
As for the design of the Switch 2, there’s not much to go on yet. But there are some features we’d like to see and that we believe Nintendo should definitely include. First off, a higher resolution display would be very nice. Even though the current 720p display looks great, I believe most people will welcome a 1080p display at least.
Under the hood, the Switch is lagging behind other portable gaming devices in terms of processing power. The Switch 2 needs a significant boost in processing power if it wants to compete. For too long, Switch ports of third-party games have been subpar.
Nintendo also faces competition in the portable gaming market from powerful and sleek machines like the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally. So, a longer battery life when not docked would be greatly appreciated.
Final Words
There are a bunch of features that Nintendo can improve upon with their next-generation Switch console, but we’ll just have to wait and see if any of these anticipated changes will come to fruition.
