So, I’ve talked about the Nintendo Switch in a bunch of my past stories. You can find the links to those at the end of this post.

But today, I wanna chat about something different — the awesome Batman Arkham trilogy and how it’s been brought to the Nintendo Switch.

What is the Batman Arkham trilogy?

The Batman Arkham trilogy consists of three games: “Batman: Arkham Asylum,” “Batman: Arkham City,” and “Batman: Arkham Knight.” Developed by Rocksteady Studios, these games redefined what it means to be a superhero in the gaming world.

Let’s start with the first game, “Batman: Arkham Asylum.” It kicks things off by trapping Batman in Gotham City’s infamous psychiatric hospital, Arkham Asylum. The Joker, Batman’s arch-nemesis, has orchestrated a diabolical plan to take control of the asylum and unleash chaos upon Gotham.

As Batman, you must navigate through the creepy corridors of Arkham Asylum, using your combat skills, gadgets, and detective prowess to take down hordes of criminals and unravel the Joker’s sinister plot.

Then comes “Batman: Arkham City,” which expands the playing field. Arkham City is a walled-off section of Gotham City that has been transformed into a massive super-prison. It’s basically an entire neighborhood filled with psychopaths, gangsters, and supervillains.

As Batman, you must navigate this open-world environment, dealing with the likes of Two-Face, Penguin, and the enigmatic Hugo Strange, who seems to have his own twisted plans for the city.

This game takes the action to a whole new level, introducing new gadgets, side quests, and the freedom to glide through the cityscape like the badass Bat you are.

Finally, we have “Batman: Arkham Knight,” the epic conclusion to the trilogy. This time, Scarecrow has returned to Gotham City with a plan to unleash fear toxin on the entire population, forcing them to evacuate.

As if that wasn’t enough, a mysterious new villain called Arkham Knight emerges, leading an army of mercenaries to take down Batman once and for all. This game amps up the stakes, introducing the Batmobile as a drivable vehicle, allowing you to explore Gotham City like never before.

The story is filled with intense moments, jaw-dropping twists, and emotional encounters that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

What sets the Batman Arkham trilogy apart is its attention to detail and its dedication to bringing the Dark Knight’s world to life. The gameplay is a perfect blend of combat, stealth, and detective work.

You’ll find yourself strategizing, taking down enemies with bone-crushing combos, and solving intricate puzzles to progress. The voice acting is top-notch, with veteran actors like Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy lending their talents to bring the iconic characters to life.

Batman Arkham trilogy on the Switch?

Nintendo just dropped a bombshell during their June 2023 Nintendo Direct broadcast! They spilled the beans that the awesome Batman: Arkham trilogy is coming to Nintendo Switch this fall. How cool is that?

In the gameplay trailer they shared, it was revealed that Turn Me Up Games, the indie studio behind hits like It Takes Two and Wayfinder, is developing the definitive versions of Rocksteady’s Arkham games exclusively for the Switch.

And get this, they’re bundling all the extra content together, so you won’t need to shell out extra cash for DLC. It’s like a complete package deal!

Let’s take a trip down memory lane for a sec. Back in 2009, Arkham Asylum made its debut on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Then, Arkham City swooped in two years later and continued Batman’s adventures in Gotham City.

Finally, in 2015, we got Arkham Knight, where we got to play not only Batman but also Batgirl, Robin, and Nightwing through DLC. Talk about a sweet lineup!

These games are all about third-person action, with a huge open-world Gotham City to explore. You’ll get to experience the thrill of stealth and detective work while rubbing shoulders with famous heroes and villains from the DC universe.

The Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Batgirl, and many more will make their appearances throughout the trilogy.

Final Words

We don’t have an official release date just yet, but you can head over to the Nintendo store page right now and add the game to your wishlist.

Keep your eyes peeled for updates because this is going to be epic!
