The New Rules of AI Art by DALL·E 2
50 generations per user — 24H

No one can deny the power of Machine Learning, and it is only growing. We are an increasingly AI-driven society, from voice assistants to robots to virtual reality. The AI artist can create imagery in any style within a single sentence. It is a new world, one that is entirely different from the art world of traditional galleries and museums.

This article is about DALL·E 2, an AI-powered image generation tool. DALL·E 2 will change the creative industry forever because of two reasons: 🟠 the tool can create from the entire collective visual consciousness of humanity available today, 🔵 you can use this tool to generate content in any style.

“The enemy of art is the absence of limitations.” Orson Welles

Open AI introduced a limitation — 50 generations a day. However, it is a conscious choice that demonstrates the understanding of the power of artificial intelligence.
I asked myself: If the limitation increases creativity, then what happens in my case if I would apply this tool to generate graphics? Knowing the tool’s power is appreciated when you know the generated images’ enormous carbon footprint and power. Restrictions also apply to content. It was similar to GPT 3. Humanity should be protected from too quickly experiencing the changes that come with the power of technology.
“Photography is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality.” Alfred Stieglitz

DALL·E 2 is similar to GPT 3 but differs in its more advanced artificial intelligence. Creates on-demand content. The only limitation is your imagination. And that is the most critical element for me. As in GPT3, the general topic’s knowledge to which the generated content relates allows for the effective use of the tool. Without knowing it, you only create cocaine for the eyes, as Eva Rtology writes.
“The purpose of art is to represent truth by the use of beauty.”

As an AI artist, I can say that the above sentence is irrelevant because my purpose is not to represent truth but an internal imperative. It orders me to use the tool to move the viewer. I can say, however, that this imperative is absolutely similar to man’s internal desire to communicate with others.

I’m not interested in representing the “truth.” The “truth” is a different metaphysical concept for each person. Even when it comes to the same thing, it allows each person to see something else because we do not see the same things through the same eyes. Machine Learning fits my purpose and gives me a goal to move the viewer.
“art is the lie that enables us to realize the truth” Picasso

The above sentence is difficult to understand because art and lies are the same difference between man and machine. However, it makes an artist just ask themselves: “What do I want to achieve with this tool?”
Open AI provided me with the tools to achieve my goal.
My work is my best self.
