The data behind creativity
what do you see?

Abstractness is an expression of internal feelings that get lost in everyday life. It’s an expression of emotions that can’t be portrayed in reality, so it moves into abstraction. The more abstract something becomes, the easier it is to describe this feeling externally. This has led to modern-day AI art, where the artist provides a framework and AI creates paintings and sculptures. It is similar to traditional art but more freeing for the artist.
Even though the AI generates artwork, it is still an artist at heart. Art is a way to express emotion, and abstractness attempts to reduce external factors irrelevant to the feeling being expressed. Therefore, the more abstract something becomes, the easier it is to portray this feeling externally.
I love the invisible line between the real and the unreal.
As an artist, I understand the importance of data. The value of data is exponential given the advances in computing and machine learning that have been made over the last decade. Data represents a break from corporeal reality — to see through another’s eyes, or to see a world that does not yet exist. The line between what is real and what is unreal becomes blurry when I annotate with code and manipulate digital information with synthesized images, sounds and text to describe new realities. This is one way I use the invisible knowledge to create art. I love the unseen
