This is a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition”. You can find chapter 1 of this story here: The Burned Village. Or check out the previous chapter: ‘Trash Talking in the Tunnels’ by me.

You back off, hoping to not be noticed.

Successfully… somehow you avoid splashing in puddles of waste or kicking debris. Soon you’re away into an unknown stretch of tunnel.

You turn left, then right, confident that you can circle back to where you were.

A magically illuminated chamber looks familiar. But wait… wasn’t there a corridor ahead? You stop dead, thumping your hand on solid stone.

Looking back the way you came, you realize that running on could take you further away from your goal.

Then you hear a fearful bark, followed by a howl, off in the distance. Scruff!!

Hoping for the best, you hurry back and turn…
