Shine a light
A poem
I’ll shine a light in the darkness, to expel the burning cold, A flame to send away any fear or suffering, to slightly lessen all the deep and heartfelt sorrows.
I’ll shine a light in the blackness, to bring warmth to the distressed spirits. A twinkle to make the hearts feel sprightly once more, illuminating flurries of promising beginnings.
I felt obligated by my little light to live-it-up … but also a bit reluctant to promptly submit. Since I first felt the need to ensure and verify, that this was not a deception of the darkness catching fire.
But then I came aware of that utmost gentle light, still faint in the darkness but undeniably growing. My little light was blown away by a scary night, but now it’s clearly lit and positively glowing.
At times when humanity sees only its frightening shadows, while even the moon is hiding, lost and totally eclipsed, when the world is in lockdown, looking into a bottomless abyss, I’ll shine the light of my heart to transmit love.
I’ll transmit love to the angst we all have to endure. Love to our lost ones we so dearly have to miss. Love to our hearts that are filled with so many questions, that makes us want to disappear in our most beautiful dreams.
Maybe it helps to think we are all in this together because conjointly we are stronger than we ever were before. It’s no longer take, but a careful reconnection in giving, a silver lining, saving grace, that can never go wrong.
There is light at the end of the tunnel and there is this sameness of intention, in the ways we address our joined predicament. An awareness of new fate can be found in our oneness, giving new perspectives for peace and happiness.
And then our sun, our brightest star, she brings not just light, but revivals, heartening and warming the spirits of all people. I pray that this will make our burdens more lightly to endure, that a time will come when with elation, we will greet a new era.
For that future to come I pray, a new light will shine, showing us a new balance for the highest good of all. I’ll uphold my spirits and I’ll solemnly forward all my hopes … For this bright future soon to come, I will shine a light.
