I Never Knew Whom I Was Writing For Until I Wrote This Piece

Ask and Dig Deeper to Answer

This piece of writing is sprouting in response to the following article that showed up as “Recommended For You” by Medium in the last week of March 2023.

After I read this, I said to my Sixty two year old “Don’t like to get pressured” Self:

“Hey, Lalitha. This challenge seems interesting. Let’s try.”

I know it feels weird to read “Let’s” instead of “Let me”. Right?

I agree with you. But that is what came up. LOL.

Today when I read the following article by Ann Venkataraman

My curiosity jumped like a rabbit to quickly read and register the contents and show up to this challenge. As is evident from the comments section, I typed my questions in the comments section and went for my afternoon nap. While napping I was nervous and doubtful.

You might wonder why nervous and doubtful.

Nervous for no reason ( haha…I am a Human Being and it is normal right.) Now that I have accepted, feel sleep-enriched, and alert let’s find out why I was doubtful.

Doubtful if I can come up with 500 words. I want to write in response to the Prompt given by Ann Venkataraman but I don’t think I have a clear response or content to answer OR Participate in the following Day 1 Prompt. At this moment I also don’t want to create my prompt. :

Whom do you write for? Not just why…

OK. After I got up, unexpectedly Ann responded to my answer so quickly that my “Inspired Self “ made up her ( not our …LOL… I want to take personal responsibility) mind to just show up to the Laptop, login to the Medium account and the rest needs no explanation.

Coming back to the prompt:

To be honest, as a writer who started writing for my inner satisfaction and mental stimulation, I never thought seriously about whom I am writing for.

Now after seeing my 232 articles published in Medium Publications, I want to address this question by trusting that I have the answer but I must dig deeper thereby replacing my doubt with faith.

I am writing for:

That person who values life, not in general but as a gift from his/her parents

That person who wants to consciously integrate his/her Body, Emotions, and Mind(BEM)

That person who values his/her Self-Talk and consciously gets better by using some tools like Affirmations, Chanting, Journaling, and mindfulness meditation.

That person who wants to consider/try moving from a “Fixed Mindset” to a “Growth Mindset”.

That person who builds upon her/his “Self-Awareness” Muscle while moving through major life transformations like Single to Married to parent to Empty nester OR from an employee to Self-Employed.

To that person who values gratitude, compassion, love, forgiveness, Spirituality, grit, honesty, and fairness.

To that person who understands that holistic combination of Internal (within the body) and External ( Outside the body) living by an Acronym “BEMERI” B- Healthy Body, E-Embracing Emotions, M- Clarity of Mind, E-clean Environment, R-Enriching Relationship, I-creating mental models with Ideas, and concepts) can bring joy.

I hope I have expressed myself clearly so far and yay! I have made it! Over 500 words now. Not bad. Thank you, Ann Venkataraman, for stimulating my brain and helping to dig deeper and decipher for whom I am writing.

GnanVi_Speaks I thought you may like this challenge and want to participate.

I wrote the following article expecting some claps because I did spend some time analyzing and putting my heart and soul into it. I would appreciate sharing your insights and comments even if you don’t feel like clapping.
