Guest Prompt Week 3, Day 1: Vicky Prokopi
Prompt + short interview

The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all. Walt Disney
Everything makes sense when we stop trying to make sense of it — that goes both for inner work and the externals. We attempt to force our mind’s will too much, despite our soul being wise and eternal.
That was my Monday revelation, so yeah, thanks for coming to my TED talk. I am now ready to present guest number 7: Miss Vicky Prokopi, who’s constantly on the move, so she might not get the chance to engage as much as she would like — but non c’e problema, comprendiamo! Her prompt is genius:
“In life eventually we learn to plant our own gardens instead of waiting for others to bring us flowers. How are you preparing and taking care of your own garden?”
Vicky explained to me that her prompt was inspired by the lovely poem of Jorge Luis Borges titled “You Learn”. She said: “I came across this poem a while back, when a friend shared it. I was hooked. It made me think of all the times when I was waiting for a hero in my life, somebody to come and give me meaning, guide me and show me what life’s all about. After many failed romantic attempts, I started breaking down the pieces of my own happiness: What do I need to be well? What does my garden lack? Then I started planting slowly and often painfully. It’s an ongoing process, but it’s worth every little thorn I come across.”
What a soul nourishing topic to write on! I am looking forward to everyone’s take on it. Also, remember to stay tuned for Wednesday’s and Friday’s prompt.
Thank you, dearest Vicky Prokopi for the soothing words. 💛
