If I Had A Time Machine
Responding to a prompt from Simão Cunha in Know Thyself, Heal Thyself
If I could travel In a time machine Assuming it's super strong I'd take it back To when the world began As unthinkable illumination broke Whatever was there before
Then flash forward to the cosmic dawn Three hundred million years When hydrogen clouds condensed at last And exploded into stars Enlightening the dark once more. I would fly into their very cores And kiss their nuclear hearts
Then flash forward to when the Earth was spun A ball of lava and scolding gas Meet beings still not solid yet That danced among the heat
Once I'd soaked up the energy That made these miracles real I'd travel back through time to you And kiss you with the stars Still glistening on my lips.
