Dahlias for Dennett
Sending blooming beauties alongside some positive thoughts

It is surely something you least wish to deal with when having health issues. Paperwork and bureaucracy. While you or your loved one are already suffering, you now also have to deal with papers you don’t even want to read or know how to fill out.
Unfortunately, this is something I can’t help Dennett and Captain Argentina with but alongside sending positive thoughts and strength for this difficult time I’ve captured some blooming flowers in the most beautiful garden in the village my parents live in.
Next to newer housing complexes and three-story buildings is this old wooden house with a lovely garden in the front yard. I know those plants growing there are the seeds of an older man who nurtured the ground with more than just love. Knowledge and passion are required to make a garden stand out all year round.

I haven’t seen the old man for a while but I also no longer live in town and only spend a few weeks a year at my parents’.
However, every time I do walk down the street passing this garden I smile. I slow down my walk, I admire the juicy red tomatoes, the load of healthy lettuce, and put my nose into the blossoms hanging over the fence.

And even now, in late fall when most gardens are bland and empty with only fallen leaves covering the ground, this garden stands out with a festival of colors.

Dahlias in all kinds of colors, shapes, and sizes are shining over the fence. The tallest blossoms have a diameter of over 20 centimeters. Surely the largest ones I’ve ever seen.

Some of them are still unfolding their petals while others are stretching their blossoms will all their force towards the dwindling sun. Light is restricted these days and even if the days are still warm, sunshine is what they need to thrive.

I hope I could bring a smile to your faces with this collection of shining flowers. I wish you both all the best and send a virtual hug across the sea.
