ILLUMINATION-Curated
Correction for Curation Instructions
It is not possible to identify topics any more. However, we continue to curate.

The purpose of this post is to provide an update on a story I published on 05 October 2020. The story titled How to Find the Topics for Curated Stories.
Since then I received several messages from writers who pointed out that my instructions were not working.
Then I checked the story comments. I saw the frustration was evident.
Here are the three responses pointing out the situation on my post.
Jennifer MacDonald revealed her frustration:
“Hmm. I just tried this with one of my curated articles and the topics are not showing up anywhere. This is rather frustrating”.
The Maverick Files pointed out findings:
“I tried this but still didn’t see this on my reader interests following the same steps — there is no “topics” under my Reader Interests — just straight “Tags” — so they either removed this too or it is selective? I did look through most of my curated stories”.
Fatim Hemraj commented:
“I noticed a new piece of mine says “chosen for further distribution” in the stats page for that piece, but now when I go to the story settings and click on reader’s interests, it no longer shows the topics it was curated in. I wonder if they’ve now removed the ability to find the topics in which pieces are curated in, for good?!”
I tried the method I used in my previous post and it did not work.
Medium removed this feature. It is not available any more.
As a writer or editor, I am unable to find the topics for curated articles. I also checked the publication dashboard and couldn’t find an indication.
That’s it. Change happened.
I understand Medium made a decision on this and respect the decision.
I believe the decision makers have compelling reasons for this.
We may find out the details soon.
In the meantime, as a publication team, we continue curating stories from ILLUMINATION and presenting them in our special collection on ILLUMINATION-Curated.
