Quintessential August Writer’s Showcase:
Welcome to our August Writer’s Quintessential Showcase.
We asked out Queerly Trans writers for their shameless self-promotion! We asked our writers to share with you… themselves. Below are their About Me pages and their Author’s catalogs. If you’ve ever wondered how you could engage with and support our writers more, both on and off Medium, they’ll tell you how!
These articles are MUST READS as selected by the authors themselves!
Read. Enjoy. And perhaps you’ll even find some new favorite authors to follow on Medium.
Sidenote — If you want to write your OWN About Me page like those below and don’t know where to start, I wrote a post to help you out:

“About Me — KP-the-Writer: Podcaster, writer, and queer, oh my” by KP_the_writer
In a nutshell, I’m a lifelong writer and learner who is finally discovering myself by deconstructing the mask I created. It’s definitely a journey.

“About Me: The man in the rainbow mask” by Logan Silkwood
I’m the man in the rainbow mask, not in a sexy, mysterious, non-binary bandit kind of way…more in a finally embracing all the queerness rather intensely during a Pandemic kind of way. This is me unfiltered.

“About Me: Jymi Cliche, Info On The Author and Artist: Jymi Cliche” by Jymi Cliche
I was chronically suicidal from the age of 8 to 30 when I had my first full-blown psychotic breakdown. I’ve been through far too much trauma for one person, and unfortunately, it shows… but coping with it has made me the artist I am today.

“About Me — Sieran Lane: A whirlwind of dramatic life changes” by Sieran Lane
Hey, y’all! I’m a gay, trans, nonbinary, autistic person who is also on the aromantic and asexual spectra. But just six years ago, I believed that I was a cisgender, neurotypical straight girl. Isn’t that funny?

“About Me — Jenny Starr: A Terrifyingly Terrific Transformational Tale” by Jenny Starr✨
I am a transgender woman, who formally started her journey last fall with HRT and therapy. My therapist noticed that I liked to talk out my ideas (a “whack-a-moler” was the phrase I think I got, for how I jump from place to place) so she suggested writing.

“Hi! It’s Stephenie: One of the queerest feminist geeks you’ll ever meet” by Stephenie Magister
I’m trans, I’m neurodivergent, and I’m proud to be one of the queerest feminist geeks you’ll ever meet. I write articles focused on narrative nonfiction, memoir shorts, pop culture criticism, trans activism, and the science of storytelling.

SNEAK PEAK: September Quintessential Showcase
RANTFEST 2022!
For September, we will be calling for RANTS! What really pisses you off? What have you just had enough of? What do you want to RANT about? Writers, we invite you to take part in the Quintessentials RANTFEST 2022! Sure, let’s make this an annual event (if I remember, lol).
You DO NOT need to have your submission published with Queerly Trans (there are some great ranty publications — I’ll share some links in the next Quintessentials). In fact, at QT, we discourage full-on rants, so now is the chance to get that ‘thing’ off your chest, whatever it may be. If you (like me — eep), ‘try’ to NOT rant and keep things positive, well, this is your permission to just get downright dirty and release the inner rant! But seriously, for your own mental health, we don’t want you going full hulk mode (or needing more therapy), so, have FUN with it.
QT writers — watch out for the Quintessentials on the 16th for your invitation to submit to our September showcase.

From the Editor
PUBLICATION PARADISE — ALL the Representation!
Have you checked out our other related amazing publications? Go do that!
Enbyous
The non-binary publication, created and written by enbies, for enbies, genderqueer, agender, genderfuckers, gender non-conforming, and anyone else who does not prescribe to the gender binary… and our allies!
Trans Love & (A)Sexuality
Asexual/sexual perspectives from within trans & other gender expansive communities: erotica, essays, non-fiction. We can help answer each other’s questions and collectively feel less alone, while taking back our own narratives. CW: Adult content (18+); may not be safe for work.
We hope you enjoyed our fourth showcase. On the first of every month, we’ll share with you a new showcase of wonderful reads from our writers as selected by them. Make sure you check it out as our showcases include posts you won’t find on Queerly Trans — these are the stories our writers want you to read, the ones they know you’ll love or maybe, that you need to read.
Don’t forget to check out the Highlights from Logan Silkwood!
