I’m here to learn about me. If that helps someone else to find themselves too (or smile a little more)… BONUS!
Nutshell version: I’m a lifelong writer and learner who is finally discovering myself by deconstructing the mask I created. It’s a journey!
Hi! I’m Kai (MA[Writing], GradDip[Astronomy], BSc[Hons]Geology)… I write books. That’s… pretty much it. Haha. Well, there is also the whole, ‘Who am I?’, ‘What is life?’, ‘Is anything real?’, thing, but you know, that’s all just a part of the journey to self-acceptance and ultimate happiness. Wow, that went deep, fast. That kind of happens around here. I like to flap around on the surface, make some jokes, have some fun, and then duck dive to the depths of WTF and come back with a new piece of me. I’m slowly putting myself together, one piece at a time, through writing, exploring, and learning.
Writing of the words
I write LGBTQAI+, sports romance, YA Paranormal Sci-Fi, Urban Fantasy, and Satire/Dark Comedy. I like to play in all forms of writing because writing is the one thing that has always been a true and unwavering part of who I am. I love telling stories, embracing characters, and I love when my words inspire others.
What else?
Outside of all things character-focused and self-discovery, I’m a huge nerd. I’m a space nerd and you can bet that my sci-fi brings in a healthy dose of hard science. I’m also a massive geo-nerd — mmm, rocks! Oh, and the D&D thing, let’s not forget that. See? NERD! And I love it.
I’m also a house and pet sitter! That means I live in other people’s houses and look after their pets while they go on holidays or whatever else calls them.

That’s a Fine Queerly Trans Enby!
A strange thing happened on the way to me — I realized I was queer AF! It all began with questioning gender and if you want to read how THAT began, START HERE. Between my therapist (GT), my bestie (Kristy Westaway), and my characters and stories, it’s been a hell of a journey of self-discovery.
Right now, a few ‘labels’ fit. So let’s say I’m a trans-masc non-binary agender androsexual grey-ace. I’m absolutely not cisgender and therefore am transgender, but I don’t feel comfortable with the extremes of a binary. By virtue of being trans-non-binary, everything about me is now queer and I gotta say, I love that! The queer community has been so supportive and embracing. I’m feeling love and acceptance I didn’t even know I was missing. It’s a surreal but wonderful experience. Check out my journey so far and stick around for the next phase, whatever that entails. I Make Words Good
I’m a writer. By that I mean, I’ve written books. Actually, I’ve written A LOT of books. I’ve published a handful too. So, I’m a writer, technically. It’s what I do. It’s what I love. It doesn’t keep me alive, but it DOES keep my heart beating. I have sooooo many characters demanding their stories to be told that I’m really banking on immortality and the cessation of monetary necessity. Otherwise, at this rate, I’m screwed!

Treading Water was created, written, and directed by Kai Parker and adapted from the Streamlined novels by Kai Parker (to be released 2023/2024). Initially developed for a university project, it became one of my proudest achievements with a cast of queer actors and allies.
