Coffee Times Weekly Roundup — 9
Thursday’s picks from here and elsewhere on Medium
Hello! Coffee Times writers, readers, and followers! I am back with the ninth edition of the Coffee Times Roundup — isn’t it amazing how time flies? And soon, we’ll be hopping into the next year — 2022, filled with hope, personal resolutions, and the determination to be better!
And if you do make resolutions, our indefatigable Winston has announced yet another contest, where sharing your New Year resolutions could win you US$100! Get the details here:
I know you are all already waiting with bated breath for the results of the first contest. You know you can all vote, right? This post gives you details of all the participants and the link to vote — voting closes on 17 Dec at noon UTC.
The results will be announced on 18 December. And in the meantime, be zen, like the Buddha I’ve sketched for you. Breathe!
And now that I’ve dazzled you with my talent, here’s what I made this week. Winter is the season for red carrots — we usually get the orange variety — and it is carrot halwa galore at home. My folks love it. Me, not so much. Just as well, no? Being diabetic and all! Here’s a cup that I sincerely wish I could send out to those of you who have a sweet tooth!
Onward to this week’s featured posts!

Lucia Landini’s post about 5 fears she’s letting go of in 2022 is a great read. She has no plans to waste any more time giving value to her fear.
I found Purbita Chakraborty’s post “If You Only Had This Day, What Would You Do First?” delightful. She asks if you have a bucket list and goes on to describe hers.
Juana Flor asks if you’ve kissed an ass lately. No, you don’t really have to answer that — I know where your mind is going! Read her charming post about her trip to her stepfather’s family farm and how they enjoyed connecting with animals.

Kathryn Eriksen’s post is beautiful and she talks about how a trip to the Notre Dame Cathedral changed her. It is a story about sacred spaces that illuminate.
My long-held stories of unworthiness, not-enoughness, and failures dissolved. The strident voice of my ego stilled, as if in awe of the energy that flowed into me. I was still me, but not the small me I had created over the years.
Melissa Sirois’s post spoke to me as she talked about The Best Way To Capture Your Thoughts, According to Charles Darwin — I am already doing it. Are you? Read on to find out.
