In some of my past chats, I’ve chatted about all kinds of Nintendo stuff, and you can find those links down below. But today, let’s dive into the scoop on the brand-new Nintendo Switch models that just got announced!

So, you know how we’ve been hearing whispers and rumors about Nintendo cooking up a fresh version of the beloved Nintendo Switch? Well, guess what? Those rumors aren’t just wild fantasies — they’re real! Nintendo has spilled the beans on not just one but a bunch of new Switches. Exciting, right?

Now, before you get too hyped up, I’ve got to be the bearer of some mildly disappointing news. If you were hoping for a Nintendo Switch 2 that’s packing more power and features than your current one, hold your horses. There’s no sign of that beast just yet. Nintendo’s playing it cool on the whole “next-gen” thing.

Instead, what we’re getting are some spiffy special edition Nintendo Switch Lite models and a few neat bundles for the OG Switch. These goodies are set to hit the market in October, just in time for the fall gaming frenzy.

According to the good folks at Nintendo (via VGC), we’re getting not one but two Nintendo Switch Lite variants that are all decked out in Animal Crossing: New Horizons goodness.

One of ’em is Timmy & Tommy’s Aloha Edition in a sweet turquoise shade, and the other is Isabelle’s Aloha Edition in a coral hue. Both of these babies have that adorable Animal Crossing print on the back and a leafy design on the front to make them stand out from the plain old models.

But wait, there’s more! When you snag one of these, you’ll also score a digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons to keep you company on your gaming adventures.

The price tag for these beauties is set at $199.99 USD. The coral version is gonna be a Target exclusive, while the turquoise model will be strutting its stuff at Walmart. You can mark your calendar for October 6th.

But wait, there’s even more! There’s a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle coming at you, and it’s pretty darn sweet. This bundle includes a digital copy of the game, a shiny new Nintendo Switch, and a three-month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online. Talk about a great way to dive into the world of Mario Kart!

And if you’re chillin’ in Europe, you’re in for a special treat. You’ll be getting your very own Nintendo Switch Sports Bundle, which comes with the motion-packed game pre-installed on a slick red and blue Switch. Plus, you’ll snag three months of Nintendo Switch Online for good measure. Lucky you!

Now, you might be wondering why Nintendo is dropping all these goodies right now. Well, it’s pretty clear they want to amp up the excitement and lure us into their gaming world just in time for the holiday season.

Sneaky, right? But here’s the kicker: We’ve got a hunch that Nintendo is doing some stock-clearing before they drop the big news about a Nintendo Switch 2 or maybe even a totally new console.

Final Words

The inside scoop suggests that we might hear the official word on a Nintendo Switch 2 or some other game-changing console in the spring of next year.

And if all goes according to plan, they might just unveil the whole shebang in the summer of 2024.

Of course, you know how these things go — gaming grapevines can be unpredictable.

But hey, we’re keeping our ears to the ground, and we’ll be the first to spill the beans when the time comes!
