Abstract

overy system delivers a seamless user design with the high accessibility users have come to expect. If a user forgets their password on Mogul, they go through a familiar front-end experience similar to resetting an email or social media password. They click on a ‘Forgot Password’ button, a link is sent, they receive an email, click the link, and the password is reset. However, on the back-end, Mogul built a smart wallet system using smart contracts for decentralized wallet recoverability. When users reset a wallet, they actually create a new authentication wallet that is programmed to have the capabilities of interacting with the smart wallet. Yet, on the front-end to the user, it looks like a simple password reset.</p><ul><li><b>Manual Transaction Signatures Eliminated:</b></li></ul><p id="f765">Users can send free and frictionless transactions within the platform without manual signatures. When you use other DeFi wallets, you generally have to interact with a Web 3 interface to manually confirm a transaction and pay a costly gas fee, especially as the network congests. 6 Factors Making Us Unhealthy and Unhappy

Unless we balance our physical, mental, and emotional energies with personal responsibility, it is difficult to have sustainable health and happiness

Achieving sustainable health and happiness requires balancing our physical, mental, and emotional energies. When they are in harmony, a beautiful synergy unfolds.

Our bodies thrive with vitality, our minds become clear and focused, and our emotions flow freely, facilitating health, contentment, and fulfillment.

On a mechanistic level, as captured in scientific literature, this balance is crucial because our physical well-being directly impacts our mental and emotional states.

When we neglect our physical health, we deplete our energy reserves and disrupt the intricate systems that support our well-being.

This imbalance can manifest as stress, fatigue, diminished cognitive function, imbalanced hormones, and emotional instability, hindering our ability to experience sustainable health and happiness.

The impact of an imbalanced energy state in the body and mind extends far beyond our well-being. It ripples into our relationships, work performance, and quality of life.

When we neglect self-care and fail to nurture our physical, mental, and emotional needs, we might find ourselves struggling to cope with daily challenges, feeling overwhelmed, and lacking the resilience needed to navigate life’s ups and downs.

The implications of neglecting this delicate balance are profound. It can lead to chronic stress, compromised immune function, mental health disorders, dissatisfaction, and disconnection from the world.

However, the beauty lies in recognizing that we can restore and maintain this equilibrium with personal responsibility and support from each other.

By adopting healthy habits that nourish our bodies, we can ignite a positive cascade of effects manifesting as health and happiness.

Our physical vitality can enhance mental clarity and emotional stability, allowing us to approach life with resilience, enthusiasm, and joy.

Based on my experience and observations, I want to unfold six factors affecting our health and happiness at a high level.

In contrast to some writers who use “you,” I intentionally use the inclusive pronoun ‘we’ in my headings and statements, recognizing that our challenges are not isolated to individuals but resonate with a broader collective consciousness.

By using the inclusive ‘we,’ I acknowledge that we are all interconnected. By adopting this inclusive approach, I aim to cultivate solidarity and foster a supportive online community where we can uplift and inspire one another on our transformative journeys.

This choice of language signifies that we are not alone in our experiences and aspirations. Instead, we are part of a shared voyage bound together by our common pursuit of well-being.

Here’s an overview of six reasons adversely affecting our health and happiness from my perspective. I hope my points resonate with you.

1 — We are missing the fundamental needs of the body.

Let’s start with one of the most impactful aspects adversely affecting our well-being and inner peace. It revolves around not understanding the importance of neglecting the basic needs of our bodies.

Most of us know to prioritize nourishing ourselves with nutritious food, consuming enough calories, getting restorative sleep, engaging in regular physical activity, allowing time for rest and recovery, embracing moments of joy, and avoiding toxins and addictive substances.

However, it is truly disheartening to witness how frequently these crucial factors are overlooked, wreaking havoc in our lives and leading us down paths of poor health and unhappiness.

The consequences of neglecting these fundamental needs are far-reaching. Millions of people suffer from sleep deprivation, have sedentary lifestyles, experience hormonal imbalances, live with chronic stress, face nutritional deficiencies, consume excessive calories leading to the accumulation of visceral fat, and ultimately develop metabolic and mental disorders.

The combination of these poor habits and chronic disorders creates a cycle of illness and unhappiness for millions of people. The absence of disease paves the way for a state of ease, enabling us to embrace health, peace, and joy sustainably.

It is essential to recognize the profound impact that neglecting the fundamentals of the body can have on our well-being and to take proactive steps toward embracing a lifestyle that nurtures our physical, mental, and emotional health.

By focusing on our basic needs and gaining healthy habits, we can reclaim control over our circumstances and can significantly improve our well-being, both physically and mentally. It is within our power to make positive changes and cultivate a lifestyle that brings vitality, vibrant health, happiness, and fulfillment.

Takeaway for Fundamentals

Have a personalized lifestyle with adequate nutrition and calories from whole foods, restorative sleep, regular exercise, rest, fun, and timely recovery. Make the body insulin sensitive and fat-adapted and leverage the power of autophagy, mitophagy, and thermogenesis for cellular and mitochondrial health. Always obtain timely professional support for preventive health and treatment of disorders.

2— We are living in a comfort or danger zone.

Regarding health and happiness, there are two extremes that we should be mindful of. They are laziness and overstimulation of the body. Both of these can put our physical health in a less-than-ideal position.

Sticking solely to our comfort zone, where everything feels familiar and routine, might give us a sense of safety and security, but it can also limit our personal growth and prevent us from experiencing new and exciting things that bring us health and happiness.

On the other hand, constantly living in the danger zone, with high pressure, and taking risks without consideration can leave us with chronic stress and anxiety, leading to depression and hindering our ability to find much-needed health, peace of mind, and joy.

So, what’s the key? It’s all about finding the right balance in the stretch and risk zones. By stretching ourselves just enough, stepping outside our comfort zone, embracing a bit of physical discomfort, and welcoming new challenges, we open our bodies to new opportunities for health, growth, fulfillment, and joyful experiences.

Another critical point is that we should be mindful not to overdo it and dive headfirst into dangerous situations without thinking things through. The body needs a bit of stimulation and adequate rest.

By striking this balance between stretching and risking, we create an excellent recipe for enjoying moderate stimulation and tranquility. It’s like finding that sweet spot where we challenge our bodies, embrace new habits, and take calculated risks while maintaining safety and security for surviving and thriving.

Takeaways for Optimal Zones

Stay out of your comfort zone. Choose stretch and risk zones for our growth and tasting joy and tranquility in a balance. Raise adversity quotient, cognitive flexibility, and emotional regulations.

3 —We are not stimulating and resting the mind adequately.

Like the body, the mind also needs stimulation and rest. The body and mind are inseparable. They together give us the human experience.

When we don’t adequately stimulate and rest the mind, it can adversely affect our mental health, tranquility, and joy. The brain, hosting the mind, needs four types of workouts and three types of rest.

Constantly subjecting our mind to excessive stimulation without sufficient rest can lead to mental exhaustion and overwhelm. Not stimulating the brain and mind enough can stop the growth.

For example, our growth factors like BDNF decrease, the brain starts shrinking, and we experience mental health disorders.

Life starts losing its meaning. Cognitive fatigue starts when the brain continuously engages in demanding mental tasks without adequate breaks.

Fatigue can also happen when it is not stimulated enough. Then we start to experience impaired cognitive abilities and age quickly.

When the mind is constantly engaged in racing thoughts, rumination, or excessive negative self-talk, it can create mental turmoil.

When it is not stimulated, it experiences stagnation and boredom. Thus, both extreme situations can prevent mental health and happiness.

Takeaways for Mental Stimulation and Rest

Balance stimulating the brain with meaningful activities and providing adequate rest and rejuvenation. Practice mindfulness, meditate, work in a flow state, have fun, sing, hum, and laugh. Improve your attention, focus, intuition, and working memory. Take regular breaks, try progressive muscle relaxation and slow/deep breathing.

4 — We are not living with optimism and a growth mindset.

I want to highlight two critical factors that can really throw off our tranquility and joy: a pessimistic attitude and a fixed mindset. These sneaky culprits can have quite an impact on our well-being.

Imagine being in a constant state of expecting the worst and viewing everything from a negative lens — that’s a pessimistic attitude.

It can lead to excessive worry, anxiety, a lack of contentment, and the emergence of physical and mental health issues.

Resilience (the ability to bounce back from setbacks) is adversely affected by pessimism.

When we’re stuck in pessimistic thinking, it’s easy to get caught up in a whirlwind of unpleasant emotions, get demotivated, and lose touch with the joy and tranquility we need.

Unlike their optimistic counterparts, pessimists blow things out of proportion, making even minor problems appear overwhelming.

Needless to say, this focus on the negative can seriously hinder our ability to find a healthy living with tranquility and joyful moments.

Now, let’s talk about the effects of fixed mindsets. This is the belief that our abilities, intelligence, and characteristics are fixed and unchangeable.

With a fixed mindset, there’s a fear of failure and a tendency to avoid tasks that might challenge our perceived abilities.

This mindset can be quite limiting, preventing us from reaching our full potential, having optimal health, and experiencing the joy and tranquility of personal growth.

It’s vital to recognize the patterns of a fixed mindset and their implications. By embracing a growth mindset, we can actively work towards improving our health and happiness.

Takeaways for Optimism and Growth Mindset

✍ Try an optimistic outlook by intentionally seeking positive experiences, practicing gratitude, and surrounding yourself with positive people. Understand that your abilities are not fixed traits but can be developed through effort and lifelong learning. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, persist in the face of setbacks, and celebrate progress and achievements.

5 — We live with cognitive rigidity, fear of failure, perfectionist tendencies, and cognitive distortions.

Cognitive rigidity is a tendency to stick to one way of thinking, even when it might not be practical or appropriate for a given situation.

This can lead to hardships in acclimating to changing circumstances, problem-solving, and social interactions.

Cognitive rigidity can make it formidable to adjust to new situations or circumstances. This can lead to anxiety, stress, depression, and even suicidal thoughts in extreme cases.

Cognitive distortions are inaccurate and irrational thoughts and beliefs. They can interfere with our perception of reality and influence our emotions, judgments, and behaviors.

These automatic thoughts come from your unconscious mind, coded as emotional memories.

Cognitive distortions might manifest as unfavorable self-talk leading to low esteem, worthlessness, anxiety, fear, frustration, anger, envy, depression, guilt, and shame, causing physical and mental disorders.

The fear of failure can limit the opportunities for experiencing joy and tranquility that come with overcoming challenges.

Learning to let go is critical to taste true joy and serenity, as advised by a 102-year-old medical doctor who advocated holistic health.

Perfectionism is setting excessively high standards, being overly critical of our performance, and expecting too much from others.

This mindset can lead to chronic stress, self-doubt, broken relationships, and a lack of contentment.

Perfectionists have an intense fear of failure and judgment, which can create anxiety and self-imposed pressure.

This fear can prevent them from enjoying the present moment and experiencing tranquility and joy.

Takeaways for Better Cognitive Function

Fix cognitive distortions. Avoid pessimism but stay optimistic in realistic boundaries. Refrain from perfection and have a realistic and pragmatic approach to life. Learn to let go and enjoy every moment with ups and downs.

6 — We are not nourishing relationships, not connecting meaningfully with others, and avoiding psychological boundaries.

Healthy relationships are essential for our well-being and happiness, but harmful ones can be traumatic. Isolating ourselves and living lonely deprives us of the joy that human connection brings.

Taking others for granted and constant conflict with them amplifies stress and anxiety and can lead to depression, burnout, and trauma.

Failing to nurture relationships, construct meaningful connections, and establish psychological boundaries can adversely affect our tranquility, joy, enthusiasm, and mental health.

When we fail to initiate and maintain meaningful connections, we might experience social isolation, loneliness, diminished emotional support, and lessened joy that comes from genuine bonds.

Superficial connections might also hinder our happiness. They prevent us from experiencing deep, meaningful relationships.

This lack of authenticity deprives us of genuinely connecting with others and might lead to mental health disorders.

Meaningful connections require trust-based emotional intimacy, humility, and vulnerability. Inadequate emotional intimacy, obstinance, and arrogance might reduce the quality of relationships.

Establishing psychological and emotional boundaries is vital for well-being. Without setting clear boundaries, we absorb the emotional burdens of others, leading to emotional exhaustion and a decreased capacity to find tranquility and joy in our lives.

When personal boundaries are absent, we may feel overwhelmed, resentful, or uncomfortable in our interactions with others. These negative emotions inhibit our experience of serenity and joy.

Takeaways for Meaningful Relationships

✍Create meaningful connections with loved ones. Engage in deep conversations with open and honest communication. Offer support to create social support groups. Set psychological and emotional boundaries to protect your well-being. Say no when necessary, communicate your needs, and ensure a healthy balance between giving and receiving support. Live with gratitude and show compassion and act of kindness to others.

Conclusions

Changing deeply ingrained attitudes and beliefs is a transformative journey that requires patience, compassion, and self-care. It is essential to approach this process with an understanding that true prosperity, health, and happiness stem from embodying serenity and joy.

Joy serves as a wellspring of energy and vitality, while serenity acts as a potent reducer of stress and anxiety. By incorporating these qualities as daily habits, we can experience a remarkable transformation in our overall well-being and satisfaction.

On the contrary, an absence of these qualities can lead to unhappiness, poor health, and a sense of dissatisfaction.

From personal experience, I have witnessed the stark contrast between desirable euphoria and unbearable anhedonia. Euphoria embraces life and its wonders, while anhedonia rejects them.

These emotions reflect the different states of happiness and unhappiness within our beings, highlighting the significance of nurturing our inner joy and tranquillity.

The fast-paced nature of modern life hampers our ability to fully embrace these emotions, despite the false promise of increased productivity or desired outcomes for health and wealth.

It is crucial to acknowledge the valid concerns of those who experience poor health and face inadequacies in healthcare systems worldwide, which prioritize treating illness rather than promoting holistic well-being.

Transforming such a complex system will undoubtedly require significant time and effort, potentially extending beyond the span of our own lives.

Nevertheless, we can take personal responsibility for adding peace and delight to our lives, independent of external circumstances and healthcare systems.

By doing so, we can nurture our health and happiness, understanding that while there are no guarantees in life, these qualities have the potential to enhance our well-being.

In times of imbalance or when faced with challenges, it is vital to seek timely support from loved ones and professionals.

They can provide the support and guidance needed to navigate difficult times, reminding us that we are not alone on this journey of self-care and personal growth.

By embracing peace and joy with personal responsibility, we can create positive effects, influencing not only our own well-being but also the well-being of those around us.

Together, we can cultivate a world where tranquility and happiness flourish, promoting a healthier and more harmonious existence.

I provided five natural ways to feel euphoria anytime and anywhere at your will. I also introduced six psychological practices for achieving tranquility amidst inner turmoil.

Taking personal responsibility and living with peace, joy, and contentment made me healthier and happier. I also observed such changes in many people in my circles.

Therefore, I encourage my readers to design their lifestyles around these six principles and pass these takeaways to their loved ones.
