6 Habits to Transform Your Life Physically, Mentally, and Financially in the Next 6 Months

Everyone talks about being financially independent, but nobody talks about being physically and mentally independent.

While money is important, it’s not the only factor determining a good life. A strong and healthy body, a resilient mind, and a friendly pocket are equally important for a fulfilling life.

It takes courage, however, to recognize any flaws in our lifestyles that might prevent us from living our best lives. But ultimately, without changing those bad habits and replacing them with new skin, we’d never be able to grow.

So, let’s dive into these six simple habits that can help transform your life over the next six months. By embracing these principles, you’ll turn your life around from one average to one filled with energy.

1. Travel the road less traveled

“Everyone does it, so I want to do it too.”

Just because everyone is going down a certain road doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a proven path to success.

Many people fall into the trap of following the herd, assuming that popular trends equate to success. However, this is not always the case. Instead of mindlessly following others, take the time to research and understand the concepts on your own.

Entrepreneurs are known for finding innovative solutions to problems. To tap into your entrepreneurial spirit, you need to stir your brain and think outside the box.

There’s nothing bad about being:

  • Alone
  • Unique
  • Slow

By choosing the road less traveled, you open yourself up to new experiences, perspectives, and opportunities that the majority may miss.

What to do?

Instead of wasting time doing what everyone does, for example, being on the phone 24/7 and binge-watching Netflix shows, do something different.

Condition your brain to be different. If you travel the road less traveled, you’ll encounter the benefits you wouldn’t have discovered otherwise.

Think different.

2. You don’t need more — you need to do more

We fool ourselves into believing we need:

  • Good education
  • Support (friends+family)
  • Loan

Most businesses began in a garage. Writers are selling their digital products and making $$. You don’t need so much to begin with something. You have all the right ingredients.

Most times, we trick ourselves into believing “someday.”

Why not today? We tie that thought to some lacking that we have, which serves as a boundary to starting our own business or making our first dollar.

Understand that risks are not always associated with money — it’s our mind wanting to stay in the comfort zone.

What to do?

I was only 18 when Covid came. Though I could not apply for the bachelor’s degree, I took some time to do free certificates from the University of Virginia and the University of Leeds.

You should make the most out of what you have.

Stop looking. You have what you need!

3. Lift weights

Disclaimer: I am not a gym freak.

Though I am a fitness freak, lifting weights is not just about lifting actual weights but doing something new you wouldn’t normally do.

Break out of your comfort zone. Don’t get stalled. Try new things.

For example, lifting weights is reading books, learning, and swimming. Try on new outdoor habits, and don’t settle. Try new things until those things stop scaring you.

Writing scared me at one point, but the scary part is gone since I write every day.

What to do?

We must bite the bullet and confront our fears.

You and I both know there are things we are scared about. Identify these fears and confront them head-on.

I’ve found that the most progress a person can make is doing something he hated initially. Break out of your comfort zone. You’re made for wonderful things.

4. Better questions, better stories

There are two types of people

  • Who listens to the podcast
  • Who consume podcast

Sometimes, the information in a podcast overwhelms us. We often search the term only to find out what it means.

Therefore, asking questions is a sign of cleverness. The more we peel the onions, the closer we reach their core.

This habit particularly helps with writing and growth.

As writers, we’re often asked to question everything, which helps with critiquing our work. Make questioning a habit, and unlock the secrets of the world around you.

What to do?

Don’t accept everything you hear.

Research them.

Ask questions and uncover the hidden meaning behind everything. A man who asks questions is a man who isn’t afraid to learn.

5. Don’t send angry letters

Carl Jung believed:

“Thinking is Difficult, That’s Why Most People Judge.”

Before passing judgment, consider this: Delivering a verdict without knowing the details is unfair. Therefore, stop sending angry letters and emails because you’re tired or think the opposite party is rude.

In this unpredictable world, you never know when you’ll need someone.

I only send heated letters if I really need to. Therefore, I take it to the extent of avoiding less drama in my life.

Remember, your behavior reflects your personality and impacts your work, so always strive to be kind and passionate in your interactions with others.

How to do?

Sometimes, the ego gets caught up when emailing someone we loathe.

For that matter, do these:

  • Drink a glass of water
  • Use any object: beads, flow, or coffee as an anchor to cool down.

When you realize that everyone needs each other, your life can change for the better.

6. Have multiple sources of income

I know it’s easier to say but difficult to do.

We all have time to build a source of income. Income can be of two types:

  • Online Business
  • Offline Business

You can also sell services, ideas, and experience, not just your product.

What you sell also depends on the type of experience you have had since after you graduated.

Many of us may have publishing expertise, and we can use them to sell services, blogs, and strategies without having to bear the tension of making a product store on Amazon or opening a restaurant.

Your expertise is quite simple — and you know it.

Don’t worry about the competition. If people are selling their blogs despite the competition, meaning you can stand out too if you have good knowledge.

What to do?

Connect with others in the same field and see what they’re doing.

Maybe instead of creating services from scratch, you can partner up with someone or work for your friends’ company. Sometimes, you don’t have to begin from the ground up but use your brain effectively to make money.

Good things are quite simple.

Final thoughts:

Neglect external noise.

Above are six habits you need to make your next six months worthwhile. You don’t need a thousand unfit habits, but rather the right ones.

Some habits are fast — some are slow.

The combination of well-balanced mental, physical, and good habits can make you more productive than ever before.
