Your Medium Profile is Now Naked.
What do I think of the Medium update on claps and comment count display thing on your profile?
For those who have been on the Mobile app for the past couple of days, might not notice.

One of our editor Marcus Musick mention that Medium has added a new feature on the Desktop version of profile displaying the claps and comment counts without having to open the actual post.

This feature does give a better experience for the writers themselves to know at a glance which post is doing what. (this will reduce the risk of hurting the read ratio) Higher chance of a read if the Headlines and Image are good enough.
Some could say this might decrease the chances of a new writer’s post being viewed as a post of their post has little to no claps or comments.
I would say that is partly true, yet since a reader is already looking at their profile, it shows there is extra interest from a reader.
What the writer needs to do is Pin their best post, in the past there was no reason to bring up older posts with the pin feature as it does not help a reader to know if that post was actually worth a read.
I know there might be still a disadvantage for new writers but don’t we all start with one post, one clap, and one comment at a time?
I see the one that manages to use this feature to the T, gets the most benefits as to all new features or tools in any games or platforms.
Since there is no announcement on this.
This is your upper-hand tool right now.
