Running is My Therapy
The world is more beautiful after running.

It’s late, and I’m tired. I’m pondering what to write for Medium. Various topics for this month have been circling in my mind for days, but my head isn’t functioning properly right now, and I simply remembered running. A spontaneous topic arises!
Just Run
Each of us has something that helps us deal with stress or nervousness. Something for relaxation and “recharging our batteries.” An outlet.
For years, my outlet has been running. With my best friend, I used to run up to twice a day, covering really long routes. It would be in the early morning hours and in the late afternoon. I’m not a morning person, and I would always run less in the morning, but waking up early and starting the day with exercise has its own charm and numerous advantages. I would always feel more energetic and ready for the day ahead.
In the evening, I always had more strength in my legs, and it was more enjoyable for me to run. This activity would always clear my mind, lift my spirits, and I would feel like I had done something beneficial for my body and mind. Moreover, running gives me great pleasure.
We would always go to the same embankment surrounded by nature and follow the same route. No matter how early or late we arrived, there were always walkers, people on bikes and skates, and those who ran like us. Always the same faces. All in all, it was a wonderful time.
Life goes on and takes its toll. The friendship vanished, and due to various work obligations, as well as motherhood, that beloved sports activity of mine disappeared, too. This spring, I decided that enough was enough with postponements and excuses. I am starting to run again!!
Behind the house, I have a large orchard with a trail, followed by a meadow, and that’s enough space for me to start. I won’t have company like before, but I’ll enjoy spending time with my own thoughts.
In addition to running, another sports-related topic I have also written about here is my love for table tennis. You can read the article at the link below.
What’s your outlet?
