You don’t need 100 followers

I will share a secret with you

I started writing on Medium in May 2021. I had no followers, and there were no readers. Today, in November 2021, I have over 600 followers and readers. Allow me to assert that this number isn’t important.

I’ve been writing for the last ten years, and I’ve always found Joy in my work. But when I look back at my old articles, I can see that my sense of Joy has grown and matured. It’s not just about the words; it’s about how we speak to each other and how we give and receive inspiration. Eight years ago (gulp), I wrote: “Joy is a vital ingredient for good writing.” I still believe this to be true, but what exactly does it mean? Now that we’re in Year Twenty-Five of the Internet era, let me ask you: Do you know where your sense of Joy is right now? And if not, what might you do to bring it back? Let me take you on a journey. Follow my lead. I’ll show you how my sense of Joy has grown and what I’ve learned along the way. Does this sound like an invitation? I invite you to join my journey.

I shall tell you a secret: It is time to stop wasting and start achieving. No longer idle; achieve more! You no longer desire more followers or readers

Step one: The old saying “give and take” is usually true. With the understanding that giving goes both ways, you can act as a catalyst for change. And start believing that every single clap is an opportunity for accomplishment and satisfaction- and nothing is holding you back but your own attitude! I recommend commenting on articles so you can learn from a new perspective and expand your knowledge. Similarly, you will find new authors to adore.

I have been writing for 10 years. I have come a long way and learned much in the process. Now I want to share my lessons with others and inspire them to write even better than they do today.

I’m not the best writer; I’m not the best poet;

I’m sure I can’t even do any better than writers like Robert Greene or Miyamoto Musashi. But I do know that some of my favorite writers write very well, and I know what it means to write well because I have been a writer for a long time. Reaching out to passionate people about writing and sharing my experiences has made me successful in this mission. I would like to encourage all of you to reach out and connect with authors that inspire you. If we don’t talk, we can’t learn from each other, and we won’t learn from modern literature.

Take Action: Step 2: Reach out, comment, and share (must read) I’d like to ask you a favor. When you read something nice on Medium, please take a moment from your day to comment on it. Commenting is the easiest way to say thank you. It’s also a great way to expand your network by connecting with people who share your interests. The most fantastic thing about posting comments is that it’s the easiest and quickest way to connect with others on Medium. When you comment, you can connect with new readers and authors. I think comments are the most critical way to communicate on Medium because they give us a precious opportunity to spread positive messages and work together as a community. That’s how I got to know many of you. We should all do our best to expand the Medium community. Every comment that you leave makes it a little better for everyone on here. It helps us bring new readers to the site and connect more deeply with people who love stories and characters as much as we do. Let me show you what I mean. I am a frequent commentator. Whenever I find an article on Medium that I really like, I will always comment. Sometimes it takes me weeks to do so. Life just keeps happening, don’t you think? : )

Step 3: Share your thoughts with the world (must read) Sharing is the easiest way to give something back to Medium. You can share (Twitter) your great experience of reading or writing an article on Medium by clicking on the share button at the top of any post. That’s all you have to do, but you can also write your own article or just send us a message through the private messaging system. This is one of the most effective ways to drive people back to Medium. If you have read an article you liked, just follow this link and share it with your friends. And if you are reading an article that inspires or challenges you, let them know!

Step 4: Connect with authors (must read)

Subscribe to your favorite creator : ) The best thing you can do is to find out how to connect directly with your favorite authors! Here are a few ways I have found. If you are reading an article that inspires or challenges you, let them know! For example, you can write a comment on post and say that it got you thinking about writing something new. Write a review or polemic

Do you not need 100 followers?

Your Joy in writing is more important.

This is the key to writing more frequently. You just write because you ❤️ to. You do not want anything in return or desire for anything else except your Joy in writing itself.

I love my reader-friends, and I hope you know that I am grateful for every single clap, follow, comment and upvote that I receive! But my sense of Joy now comes from the act of creating itself, not from anyone else’s judgment or evaluation of my work.
